I'm gonna ask the question again, like I did in the video. Does the act of blocking damage more win you games? Does that create space? Does that force the enemy team to back up? If the answer is yes, then you also agree that the act of healing more wins you games. Is that true?

@onepiecefeats I would say walls and shields do create space. They CAN. Healing and blocking off damage are two different things.

What do shields do besides block damage?

@onepiecefeats It diminishes chances of you or teammates getting hit, where as getting healed puts you in a position of having to back up or get to a safe position depending how low you are. Blocking off someone’s healing allows for aggressive play.

No shit its a different job. Thats why we dont call them "tanks that sit main" but "tanks that make space." You can do that via kidnaps, slams, Groot walls, etc. Umbrella term on what "space maker" is not bad at all bc it clarifies the main purpose of some1 like Venom vs Mag

@onepiecefeats He makes space by pushing the team forward. Tanking the oncoming poke damage. While also taking shots at weak enemy supports and getting picks Also sheild divers and teamates about to ult. While helping his supports build ult charge.

So damage mitigation makes space? Taking damage let's your team walk forward? If I use mag into an inf ammo punisher, I'm making space by just holding shield? And now youre saying shooting your gun makes space? Wow. Good thing only Magneto can do that.

@onepiecefeats You have it backwards, main tanks hold space (creating a "safe" area for the team to play) off tank takes (disrupts the enemy, makes it "unsafe" usually for strategists a majority of the time). Your takes are very warped and you are spreading misinformation.

@onepiecefeats Tanking little dmg on tank will lose you games. Doing alot of dmg can win you games. Healing alot can also win you games.

@onepiecefeats I still 100% agree with everything you're saying. But you're not going to convince the wider community to swap the two terms around. For Rivals, the community naturally associates "main tank" with the space holder, not the space maker.

@onepiecefeats I would've guessed the main tank holds space and the off tank creates it. Like a venom slamming forcing attention then the mag or groot can walk up without getting blasted but since mag has alot of sustain hes harder to force off a spot than venom, cap or angela

But why would a main tank hold it? Why does an off tank create it?
