Stop asking why the clock doesn't stop. That's literally how soccer works! 😆⚽️ Hydration breaks though?... .... That’s a different complaint from Katie Nolan.

@katienolan First things first, start by calling it FOOTBALL because that is what it is.

@katienolan Hydration breaks is such an american thing, and should not be normalized in football.

@katienolan Hydration breaks exist so we watch more ads(especialy beer and coke ones)...thats it..not for the players' health.

@katienolan Stop calling it fucking soccer for a start 😡 The Ad breaks for your shit American tv companies is complete bollox. It takes 10 seconds to get a drink, and there is no need for managers to be on the pitch for it either. 😡 Ruined the whole World Cup with it, well done 👏

@katienolan Baseball didn’t have a pitch clock for 150 years. The sport is now gaining popularity. Soccer would do well to listen to American fans. It would be a big boost to gain America.

@katienolan For heavens sake ,it is called Football, proper Football to be precise!.The FA was formed in 1863 well b4 all these small sporting codes sprouting ,masquerading as Football!.

@katienolan She sounds like the people who didn't want a pitch clock or ABS. The stoppage time issue is that it is based on the referee’s opinion and referee’s opinions are what are being eliminated in modern sports. Fans want precision.

@katienolan Duh... It is obvious. If click stops for an event not related to the game, that time must be added at the end. Hydration breaks are made for American companies to show ads, period.

Hydration breaks are bad if the coach is bad. That “break in play” people are complaining about it’s a golden opportunity for a good coach to implement changes. They’ve been quite valuable for Brazil because we have the best coach in the whole tournament. Pretty much every game at the start there was some confusion and small but important things that were not right and Ancelotti used the hydration break to change things in crucial ways, that lead to our good results so far. So there you go.

@katienolan FIFA should just be honest and say it's a commercial break. There are already rules in place that if it's too hot the ref has the choice to stop the game for a hydration break. What we have right now is only for money, not player safety.

@katienolan Well said. This isn’t how the beautiful game is played. There’s 42 countries playing in the tournament and many more who didn’t make it. Guess which countries fans want to change the way it’s played. Go away it’s our sport and you wanted to play. Join in or fuck off.

@katienolan It's a sport that has player rolling around on the pitch with fake injuries, and arguing/discussing every referee decision, all while play is stopped with the clock rolling. And she's worried about a water break? Perhaps the players play better late in halves by being hydrated.

@katienolan My problem with them complaining about the hydration breaks is they say it disrupts the flow of the game. So does every flop and screaming in pain like you’ve broken your leg.

@katienolan The rest of the world would probably think to make changes to American football if they were watching for the first time but the rest of world simply just don’t care or find it interesting to even be concerned with

@katienolan As someone who follows “American” sports and have followed soccer/futball for over 20 years, clock should reflect actual remaining time in some way. When ever player that is on the losing team argues after the final whistle with amt of stoppage time, something needs to change.

@katienolan The fact that there are Americans STILL disagreeing with her just shows the levels of ignorance for the sport. Your "suggestions" aren't welcome. Shut the fuck up.

@katienolan Who the fuck is this cunt? Her overall point is fine... most people watching are just confused and don't understand not trying to change things. But her object perminance/comparing people to toddlers comment. Is so fricken rude. She can go fuck herself.

@katienolan Why would you expect novice who are growing interest to not ask silly questions? Or have quirks about a game that some have grown out of? So whether their first watch is today, just embrace the influx of people. Your opportunity to grow the sport as well.

@katienolan Hydration breaks existed before but they were way shorter, broadcasters couldn’t cut to ad breaks, and they only happened when the temperature was above a certain threshold and not for every game like it does now regardless even when it’s only 15C. How they do them now sucks

@katienolan Bang on, another reason for stoppage time and things of the like working the way the do is because of grassroots football. The more technical restrictions you apply to the game as a base, the less accessible it becomes and accessibility is the beauty of football.

@katienolan It is a minimum of 5mins in injury time, yep the lady is correct and it does get warm in Europe also and we don't have hydration breaks, it's all a marketing ploy for more and breaks that is all it is and it's ruining the game of football/soccer!!

@katienolan Just because you understand the rule doesn't make you stop complaining. Nba/nfl fans complaining about rules. Not stopping the time during dead time and then saying "yea its stoppage time so you get the full time" just start the clock when it ball is back in action

@katienolan The solution to the current WC hydration breaks is to only have them when it’s above 30 degrees C and when there’s a natural break in play(there’s enough of them).

@katienolan It’s not that controversial or complicated to do. The clock could easily be linked to referees watch. When the ref stops his watch the clock stops.
