That was a great video, I wish more people were inclined to take apart and repair their own technology. Especially things that are this easy.

Extensive but a q-tip with iso dragged along the puns on both sides is sufficient enough for the dumbs out there lol

thats what i do for a living. What really help too is cleaning the connector of the console itself.

If you're worried about moisture just get a compressed air can

so - yeah the blowing on cart was not needed for N64 cause it had much better designed connector.. - now the NES well.. that thing was just a terrible annoying connector.. the whole plug in/push down.. just added un-needed movement and complexity..

Life is too short. Just blow on the fucking cart. 10x more enjoyable than doing a 1 hour cleaning task at which point you won't even care to play anymore

No one in the 90's was going to take apart the cartridge to clean the game to play it.

I always think of the news report where they was smuggling drugs inside of the cartridges anytime I see somebody open one I'm expecting something to pop out lol.

I’ve been blowing (and slapping) the games since the NES days. However the weird one was the computer lab instructor blowing on the monitor when the comp won’t power on. Then he proceeded to to shake the monitor vigorously. Idiot.

When a game cartridge don't start I take it out and connect again. This reconnection action is why "blowing in it make the game work". You don't need to blow anything just disconnect and connect again, the rubbing of metal to metal on the connector solves it by design.
