@fuckyouiquit Great Q! That assumes what they’re offering you actually is a severance, and not something else. Either way you should not sign something you do not understand. Get help if you aren’t sure what to do.

@fuckyouiquit I worked for costco for 19 years. Had 400 hours of leave, asked to use 2 vacation days that would have kept my health insurance until my next job, they said yes but cut it on my last day. I signed the papers on my last working day…

union rep here, we tell our members this all the time! never sign a write up, never sign a suspension notice, don’t sign an agreement until you’ve actually negotiated it!

People often talk about how we don’t teach kids useful skills in school re: paying taxes etc. There should be a whole ass course on labour laws and your rights as an employee.

When I got laid off, they said I couldn't have severance unless I signed something.
