This is a total lie. 9th Wonder got the opportunity to play beats for Jay-Z because Young Guru was a fan of Little Brother. Guru invited 9th to come play beats for Jay. 9th asked Questlove to put in a good word for him before he arrived. 9th showed up to Baseline Studios with 4 beat CDs, he played a bunch of those beats for Jay. Including a bunch of beats that would later go to Little Brother and other artists, but Jay passed on ALL of them. Jay had an idea in mind and it was HE who gave 9th the R. Kelly “A Woman’s Threat” record and asked him if he could flip it. 9th quickly did it and they made the record. The reason for the Little Brother/9th Wonder breakup was because Phonte & Rapper Big Pooh had an issue with 9th’s commitment to the group. They said that he only wanted to send beats over and not be involved with everything else that came with being in the group. That shit had absolutely NOTHING to do with Jay-Z. But as usual, you idiots blame him for everything. But don’t take it from me. Here they all are telling the stories in their own words.
