"You can either produce excellence or you can avoid criticism. But you cannot do both of those. The reason that you don't have certain excellence that you want is because you are afraid of getting criticized. You are afraid of the judgment that comes with it. You are afraid of standing out. You are afraid of being alone. You are afraid of people looking at you. You are worried about what people think of you. There are 2 categories of things in this world: 1) Things that are up to you 2) Things that are not up to you Which category does your reputation sit in? Your reputation is not up to you. I'm the one who associates your reputation with something, not you. You just do things. What's up to you? How you act. Your decisions. Your actions. That is up to you. Your reputation is not up to you. Here's how I know that: You all have a reputation about me and it's not in my control. I get to say and do whatever I say and do up here. I am in control of saying it. I am in control of doing it. The moment words leave my lips, who has control over what is done with those words? You! You are in control of what you think of me. And there's no way everybody in this room is going to think the exact same thing about me. No way. When it comes to exceptional, what we've got to understand is you can spend your whole life trying to avoid criticism and earn reputation, and it still won't be in your control. We can waste a lot of time missing out on excellence we could have been producing if we were just simply LESS trying to engineer what we wanted other people to think about us."

.Naval: Look at reality the way it is. Try to take yourself out of the equation. “Labels like pessimist, optimist, cynic, introvert, extrovert—these are very self limiting. Humans are very dynamic. There are times when you feel like being introverted. There are times when you feel like being extroverted. There are contexts in which you’ll be pessimistic. There are contexts in which you’ll be optimistic. Leave all those labels alone. It’s better just to look at the problem at hand. Look at reality the way it is. Try to take yourself out of the equation, in a sense. Obviously you’re involved. But motivated reasoning is the worst kind of reasoning. You’re not going to find truth through highly motivated reasoning. You have to be objective. And objective means trying to take yourself out of it as much as possible, or at least your personality out of it as much as possible. And so to the extent you run with this thick identity and personality, it’s going to cloud your judgment. It’s going to try and lock you into the past. If you say, ‘I’m a depressed, unhappy person—I’m going to be unhappy.’ That’s a way of locking yourself into your past. Even saying, ‘I have trauma, I have PTSD,’ yeah, you feel something—there are memories, there are flashes, there are occasional bad feelings. But don’t define yourself by it because then you’ll lock it into your identity and you’re just going to loop on it. It’s better to stay flexible because reality is always changing and you have to be able to adapt to it. Adaptation is also intelligence, adaptation is survival. Adaptation is kind of how you’re here. You’re here because you’re an adapter and your ancestors were adapters. So to adapt you’ll have to see things clearly and if you’re seeing them through your own identity, it’s going to cloud your judgment.”

Sometimes I sit and look around without blinking, trying to understand how everyone's mentality works or how one person comes to feel inferior to another. Although I spend hours analyzing everyone's behavior and way of communication, I cannot realize the superior way of thinking of some people. Why do they think they are superior to others or why do they show ignorance and criticism towards individuals who, in terms of mentality and humanity, are perhaps much more developed than them? But no one can explain the way of thinking of those around. However, I would like to give my opinion about each kind of individual involved in such a conversation. For those who think they are superior to others... Take a break from your daily lives to look in the mirror without the mask you wear daily in front of others. Look closely at yourself without embarrassment or prejudice and analyze every element of your life that makes you who you are. Ask yourself if the way you treat others would you like to be applied to you. Think before you open your mouth and criticize, nobody and nothing is perfect in the world. Look and think before you speak and accuse. Those who think they are inferior I tell you this.... Look carefully in the mirror and see the beauty that defines your existence. Not the clothes, not the money, not the social status, not the nationality, not the physical appearance, not the years of advanced education, not the social life and not the profession you profess will make you beautiful and wonderful. But your humanity and soul show who you really are and how valuable you are. And you don't have to be important for someone else, be important for yourself, for your happiness, for your future, for what you believe and what you love. Love yourself before you love anyone else, accept your own flaws and love what you stand for. You are perfect exactly as you are, look and love what you see in the mirror because that reflection is the definition of the beauty of the soul and the uniqueness that you possess. Be yourself and learn to love what you stand for, you are a star that shines forever. Army no one knows what tomorrow will bring and no one can change what yesterday was but I what I can say is that we can all live today, live in the moment and enjoy every day like is the last one. With no regrets or resentment, no hatred or sadness but just a smile, a smile so bright that will melt even the coldest heart. Be yourself, love yourself ❤️ Because I love you 🌹

Andrew Huberman on why you can't think your way out of stress: Huberman is asked what he means when he says you cannot control the mind with the mind. His answer reframes how we should approach stress, anxiety, and emotional regulation entirely. "If you're very upset, it's hard to talk yourself out of it. If you're stressed, it's hard to think yourself out of it." He explains that when we're in heightened emotional states, we tend to default to mental strategies, rationalizing, "third personing" ourselves, texting a friend, trying to reason our way back to calm. But according to Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D., this rarely works: "It's very hard to get yourself out of those states with thinking alone." The solution, he argues, lies not in the mind but in the body. "The beauty of the autonomic nervous system is that it traverses the brain and the body and it connects to essentially all the organs of the body. And it's a two-way street such that certain behaviors, even certain patterns of breathing etc. allow us to shift between very very alert and stressed and very calm." This two-way street is the key insight. The body doesn't just receive signals from the brain, it also sends them back. Shifting your physiology shifts your mental state, which in turn shifts the kinds of thoughts and actions available to you. "If you're very very stressed, you're very very upset, two things happen. One, it's very hard to take your focus off whatever it is that's upsetting you. And if you don't know what's upsetting you, you know, pure anxiety, but you don't know why, it's very hard to take your mind off of the feelings of anxiety." In other words, anxiety hijacks your attention and then traps you there. Trying to think your way out only tightens the grip. The way out is to move through the body first: "If we turn to the body and certain behaviors, we are able to move ourselves along the autonomic continuum. And at that point, when we've done that successfully, we are able to think about things differently." "If you can't control the mind with the mind, look to the body to control the mind."
