@gijn If Google itself is to be trusted (re the Advanced Protection setting). Also, Signal's disappearing messages option has a max time-out phase of 4 weeks. It would be more useful if they did offer time lengths beyond that like 6 months or a year, or even 2 or 5 years as a max cap.
