First, become faithful yourself. More often than not, a faithful spouse is sought by someone who is pursuing faithfulness themselves. We spend so much time evaluating the character of the person we want to marry that we often neglect the condition of our own heart. Instead of asking, “Where can I find a faithful partner?” perhaps we should first ask, “Am I becoming the kind of person Christ is shaping me to be?” Be so rooted in Christ that your life radiates His light. Then, whoever God brings into your life will encounter someone whose character reflects Him. While no one can change another person’s heart—that is God’s work alone—a life surrendered to Christ has a powerful influence. So don’t make finding the right person your primary pursuit. Become the right person in Christ, and trust God with the rest.

Hebrews 10:26 is one of the most misunderstood and frequently taken-out-of-context verses in Scripture. Many people assume it is referring to believers who continue committing random sins, but when read in its proper context, it is actually warning against the sin of unbelief, rejecting the gospel i.e Christ's sacrifice. This is why we always emphasize reading the Bible contextually. While the immediate context is Hebrews 10, the broader context is the entire book of Hebrews, especially chapters 3, 4, and 10. In Hebrews 10:10–12, the author contrasts the Old Testament sacrificial system with Christ's once-for-all sacrifice. Under the old covenant, priests continually offered sacrifices that could never completely take away sins. In contrast, Jesus offered one perfect sacrifice that completely dealt with sin once and for all. Hebrews 10:18 reinforces this truth: "Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin." In other words, because Christ's sacrifice has secured complete forgiveness, there is no need for another sacrifice. This stands in direct contrast to the Old Testament system, where sacrifices had to be offered repeatedly because they could not provide permanent remission of sins. Based on this assurance, the author encourages his readers to draw near in full assurance of faith. But he also warns that "if we sin willfully, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins" (Hebrews 10:26). The question is: what is this "willful sin"? Since Jesus offered only one sacrifice for sins, what could make that sacrifice unavailable to someone? The answer becomes clearer as we continue reading. In Hebrews 10:28–29, the author compares those who rejected Moses' law with those who have "trampled underfoot the Son of God." Under the law of Moses, those who deliberately rejected God's covenant died without mercy. How much greater, then, is the judgment for those who reject Christ Himself? This shows that the "willful sin" in context is not referring to a believer struggling with sins like fornication, stealing, or other moral failures. It is referring to deliberately rejecting or despising Christ and His once-for-all sacrifice. If Christ's sacrifice is the only provision God has made for sin, then rejecting Him means there is no other sacrifice left to turn to. This warning was made particularly because the audience were Jews who were familiar with the Old Testament sacrificial system. Some may have been tempted to reject Christ and return to the repeated sacrifices of the old covenant. The author makes it clear that Christ's sacrifice is final. There will never be another one. Therefore, rejecting Him leaves only the expectation of judgment. This interpretation is consistent with the earlier chapters of Hebrews. In Hebrews 3:15–19, the Israelites were judged because of unbelief. Hebrews 4:1–2 explains that the message they heard did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. Throughout the book, the author repeatedly warns against unbelief and encourages faith in Christ. Therefore, Hebrews 10:26 is not teaching that a believer loses salvation every time they commit a deliberate sin (James 1 even makes it clear that all sins are deliberate first of). In its context, it is warning those who knowingly reject the gospel after hearing the truth. The willful sin is unbelief, despising and rejecting the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ. The book of Hebrews was written to a mixed Jewish audience, including believing Jews, unbelieving Jews, and those who were being persuaded toward faith. Hebrews 10:26 serves as a solemn warning to the unbelieving Jews not to reject the only sacrifice God has provided for sin.

Profound and balanced! Yes, your salvation is in the hands of God, but be careful to note He's also a just God. Yes, sealed with the Holy Spirit till the day of judgment, but note the Spirit is just. You can play men, but not God.

It’s quite unfortunate that .. The understanding found in Hebrews 6 is not common .. The writer of Hebrews from the chapter 6 through chapter 10 meant to say that .. We can’t crucify Jesus twice .. so whatever that is done ones; that’s coming to the understanding of>>>>

Brother, you’ve shifted the conversation a bit. 😄 Leave Tinubu, Daniel Bwala, and everyone else for a moment—that’s a different discussion. The focus here is on those who claim to know God. The real question is: Do you truly know and fear God? Because Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). That’s the standard we’re all called to. Yes, believers fall into sin… I do too. The difference is that we don’t make peace with it or justify it. We repent, we fight against it, and we depend on God’s grace to keep transforming us to the perfection he desires of us. The issue isn’t struggling with sin; it’s living comfortably in it while defending it. Scripture calls us to be set apart—not to live like the world in our speech, our thoughts, or our actions. So no, I’m not saying that every believer who falls into sin is automatically God’s enemy. I’m saying that a life of persistent, unrepentant rebellion against God is incompatible with genuinely following Christ. There’s a world of difference between struggling against sin and surrendering to it. That’s the distinction the New Testament consistently makes.

Yes, His grace is sufficient. But His grace was never given as a licence to remain in or continue in sin. There’s a reason Jesus said we must be born again… The very purpose of His death and resurrection was not just to forgive our sins, but to give us new life… If we’ve truly received that new life, shouldn’t our lives bear the fruit of that transformation? You also quoted the passage about our righteousness being like filthy rags, and I agree. Apart from Christ, our righteousness is indeed worthless. But the Christian life doesn’t end there. As Paul wrote, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” If that is truly our reality, then it is Christ Himself producing His righteousness in us through the Holy Spirit. Salvation is by grace alone, but the grace that saves also sanctifies. Once again, this message is directed at those who profess to be Christians yet have never truly submitted to the Lordship of the very One they call “Saviour.” You cannot separate Jesus the Saviour from Jesus the Lord. The same Christ who saves us also calls us to follow Him in obedience.

May we not take the grace of God for granted.

Respectfully, Sir, I think you are misunderstanding what “Christian” means. The first Christians were Jews. Jesus was a Jew. The twelve apostles were Jews. The early Church in Jerusalem was almost entirely Jewish. In fact, the followers of Jesus weren’t called “Christians” until Acts 11:26 in Antioch. Before that, they were simply Jewish disciples who believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah. The name “Christian” wasn’t created to mean “non-Jew.” It simply means a follower of Christ. That’s why the first Christians were, in fact, Jews. Also, the Scriptures were never “for Jews who believe in sacrifice.” They were given by God through Israel to reveal His plan of redemption, which ultimately culminates in Christ. Jesus Himself said the Scriptures testify about Him (John 5:39), and Paul said “all Scripture is God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16). At the time Paul wrote that, the New Testament hadn’t even been completed—he was referring primarily to the Old Testament. So Christianity isn’t separate from the Scriptures; it is the fulfilment of what the Scriptures have always been pointing to. The Old Testament points forward to Christ, and the New Testament reveals Him as the fulfilment of God’s redemptive plan… that’s why Christians cherish the entire Bible.
