It has always astounded me that here in Australia, the driest inhabited continent on earth, we pump our sewerage, grey, and storm water, out to sea. Perhaps with the advancements of solar-driven energy generators, we may see a rejuvenation of arid lands begin sometime soon.

A US Marine told me that he saw farmers in Afghanistan use the technique of planting crops in holes. Moisture would condense on the sides of the holes & trickle down to water the plants. A field of holes was a strange sight for a Midwesterner.

During the great depression the goverment paid people to go out into the hills and lay down rows of rocks in random seeming lines. I only know this because i always thought they were ancient ruins untill i excavated one to find it was just one stack of rocks. Same effect
