Coming up to 11am, a bit of a break in the heavy rain at the moment but more will move in this afternoon and evening with highest amounts in South and Southeast by morning. Over 40mm has already fallen in parts of South. Staying very windy also but winds will ease tonight.

Any sustained supercells will be capable of producing strong to intense to violent (EF2+) tornadoes, with long-track tornadoes possible. Hail, and strong damaging winds will break out across the states later this evening into the night people should take this seriously as this could be a life threatening situation.

This morning’s update: About 20,000 customers remain without power, primarily in the Richmond and Presidio. I have been in touch with community leaders in those neighborhoods and we’re working to bring resources directly to those communities.
