There were high winds. It is possible for embers to blow and ignite the patch of dry grass that ultimately crept under the cars igniting the fuel lines. With such high winds, oxygen concentration is rapid and we all know oxygen is a fuel. My 2 cents

I have seen a car burn completely to this condition without any kind of forest fire anywhere. Cars are capable of doing this to themselves because they are FULL OF FUEL! Hello?
