I just love the idea of coming across them enough that they follow you home if your base is forested enough or you grow enough trees and greenery near your base, they would move in. More ambient than mechanic-based ~

Also suggestion, support with the passable foliage mod so I can still walk through them but those little buggers still can walk on them.
