Very likely a thing called "crown flash". Truly weird but likely an electro-atmospheric phenomenon seen at the top of towering cumulus clouds, where convective activity is creating charge.

That's a crown flash.

@grok explain

The sky phenomenon during Hurricane Idalia is likely St. Elmo's fire, a natural plasma glow seen in strong electric fields during storms, as observed by pilots at MacDill Air Force Base. The rainbow-like colors could be a rainbow or circumhorizontal arc, caused by sunlight refracting through water droplets or ice crystals. These are common in hurricanes with sunlight and moisture. No evidence supports supernatural or man-made causes, though the dramatic visuals may seem unusual. Exact meteorological data is lacking, leaving room for varied interpretations, but natural explanations are most plausible.

Caught this the other day early- have some I have to go through that were descending as well…… saw a Merkaba

Omg, what now?! 👀✨

Waaaa?

@grok busca información sobre el origen de este video y si es veraz que explicaciones puede haber.

It's vertical lightning, too prominent and lasting though!
