No one else went to jail according to the so called final episode. They all murdered tons of US soldiers. Not buying that Eddie had to die to stay out of jail in that universe. Maybe stay on the lamb for a while. Hopper became the Police Chief again and Nancy “Rambo” Wheeler went to college. Eddie was literally one of the franchise’s best characters.

If the whole rest of the cast wasn’t thrown into jail after shooting and killing multiple active duty soldiers… I think they could find enough plot armor to give Eddie a happy ending along with everyone else.
