This amazing Turkish-German tatted cutie shows us what a fun girl's summer holiday is all about. She's twenty-one, single, and ready to party. And she left her pack in her room, so bums a ciggie from a waiter after going for a swim. Just look how eagerly this sweety puts that smokie between her luscious lips, lights up, and starts puffing to satisfy her massive cravings. And man, she really needs it; her ciggie keeps returning to those puffers every fifteen seconds while she also sips on her beer. She holds in the smoke deep inside her lungs and then treats us to massive exhales exiting from between those amazing lips. This is what a true girl's holiday is all about; feeding that heavy smoking addiction while drinking just the right amount of alcohol to make that delicious nicotine rush become real smooth and intense. Just look how she's enjoying it, savouring every drag and becoming so relaxed and satisfied. And don't you just fall instantly in love with this incredibly cutie? Surely her pleasure won't stop with just smoking and drinking. How can such a sweet girl not also enjoy some sweet holiday flings? Just imagine how delicious it must feel when this cute muff gets some hard action from some hot, horny boys while they're looking into those sweet brown eyes. The holy trinity of a girl's holiday is non-stop smoking, drinking and fucking after all. This amazing cutie really deserves all the love in the world. And her folks back home don't need to know about all the fun she had during her holiday. #smoking #smokingfetish #sexysmoker #sexysmoking #cigarette #girlsmoke #smokingwoman #smokinggirl #smokingbabe #smokingbeauty #cig #chainsmoker #heavysmoker #girlswhosmokecigarette #chainsmoking #girlswhosmoke #smokingmodel #smokinghot #smoker #smokergirl #cigarette #addicted #smokingaddiction #holidaysmoking #holidaysmoker #lightingup #deepinhale #exhale #powersmoking #lusciouslips #puffers #sweetgirl #cutegirl #coolgirl #tattedgirl #hotgirl #germangirl #germansmoker #turkishgirl #turkishsmoker

Sequoia’s Doug Leone traces his lifelong chip on his shoulder to teenage summers wiring yacht hulls in the New York heat while the country club kids swam "Let me give you texture. We had a car, a Mercury Monterey, that had a big dent on the side. That was the family car. How embarrassing." "And we had no money. And the money that I generated was working the summers." "And when I mean working the summers, I would work sometimes through the night, because if you worked through the night you got paid double time, and you got time off for any hour you worked after midnight." "So it was not unusual for me to work until 8:00 the next day, show up at work at 4:30 and start my day again, and sometimes work 24 hours, because I wanted some money." "I wanted some money to have some game, so that when I went to school, I could go out on a date with a girl. Girls were new. Girls ran away from me in high school, for all the reasons that you might imagine." "And part of the work was working on sailboats, in these yacht clubs. There'd be the sailboats in the water, and you could see the pool, and you could see the lifeguard, the 17-year-old who got the lifeguard job, and the girls, and the girls are on the lifeguard going to the snack shack." "Well, I wasn't allowed there." "What I was allowed to do is snake wires through the hulls of the boats so we could install electronic equipment, climbing up a mast, being hoisted up a mast, and do that for many hours a day, where you sweat, very hot weather in New York, people jumping in the pool and getting cool, and me being up on a mast and seeing everything." "And you just get a look like this, of, nothing against those, there might have been great kids, but all I thought is, I'm going to get you, you sons of guns." "That's all I could think about. And that's more of the chip on your shoulder that just stays with you."

🇮🇷🇺🇸 When the world’s most important oil artery starts to close, you have two choices: de-escalate… or double down. Right now, Trump is very clearly choosing door number two by sending 2,200 Marines halfway across the world aboard an amphibious assault group. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is what the military likes to call a crisis-response force, which sounds tidy and controlled until you remember what crises actually look like. They spiral, they expand, and they rarely stay contained to the neat objectives drawn up in briefing rooms. And make no mistake, the Strait of Hormuz is not a neat problem. It’s a narrow, volatile corridor where oil tankers crawl through waters barely wider than a city commute, all while drones buzz overhead, missiles wait on hidden launchers, and fast attack boats linger. A Marine Expeditionary Unit isn’t there to observe. It’s built to seize ground, hold it, and call in overwhelming firepower while doing it. That matters, because once you introduce a force designed for amphibious assault into a place like this, you’re no longer just protecting shipping lanes. You’re preparing for scenarios that go well beyond escort duty. Take Kharg Island, Iran’s oil lifeline. It’s small, exposed, and absurdly important, the kind of place military planners circle on maps because whoever controls it controls 90% of Iran's oil exports. Putting Marines anywhere near it isn’t subtle. It’s strategic brinkmanship with a very real chance of becoming something hotter. The Marine Corps has spent years redesigning itself for exactly this kind of environment. Small, dispersed teams slipping into contested coastal zones, feeding targeting data back to ships and aircraft, turning geography into a weapon. It’s clever, modern, and, on paper, efficient. In practice, it also lowers the threshold for escalation. Because those small teams don’t operate in isolation. They’re the front edge of a much larger machine, one that includes fighter jets, missile platforms, and naval strike groups, all waiting for coordinates to turn into explosions. Once that machine starts moving in earnest, the line between “keeping the strait open” and “expanding the conflict” gets very blurry, very quickly. And Iran, for its part, has spent years perfecting the art of making itself hard to hit and easy to underestimate. Mobile launchers, decentralized attacks, persistent drone strikes, this is not an opponent that folds neatly when confronted with superior firepower. If anything, it thrives in the kind of messy, drawn-out confrontation that this deployment risks becoming. Which raises the question nobody in a uniformed press briefing is eager to answer: What’s the actual endgame here? Because “reopening the Strait of Hormuz” sounds like a clear objective until you start unpacking what it requires. Neutralizing launch sites. Securing ports. Deterring naval harassment. Possibly inserting forces onto land to make all of that stick. Each step makes a certain kind of tactical sense. Together, they start to look a lot like the early chapters of a much larger war.

#WelcomeToTheJungle #MovieReview - Non-stop action comedy that moves at a rapid pace. Rating: 🤣🤣🤣🤣1/2 If Manmohan Desai had made Sholay with Amar Akbar Anthony then he would have made Welcome To The Jungle. As the great filmmaker used to say, a commercial movie needs to have a highlight sequence every 10 minutes. This is what happens here as comedy, action, music peppers the screenplay and then gets into a repeat mode to ensure that there is no dull moment. #AkshayKumar is simply excellent in his comic avtar and surpasses a lot of his other legendary characters this time around. His double role act is a hoot. Also, his scenes with #RaveenaTandon are the best part of the film. It’s wonderful to see #SunielShetty back on screen. He is superb and so is #ArshadWarsi who is just natural. Veterans #JohnyLever #PareshRawal and #RajpalYadav bring the house down. As for #DishaPatani and #JacquelineFernandez, they are simply cool on eyes. #JackieShroff gets into the #Gabbar mode and his styling is quite good, while #VinduDaraSingh is fun as his #Sambha. The real surprise though are #FaridaJalal and #KiranKumar who get the house down with their poker faced comedy. The trio from #Mahabharat are fun and then there is a bit of #Border reference too with #SudeshBerry getting on the scene. What could have been better? Well, the training sequences don’t work at all in the middle of the first half and then similarly the middle of the second half is also okayish. However barring this, the film moves at a very rapid pace and the inclusion of songs is done very well too with the scale showing. My recommendation? Just go for this #AhmedKhan directed film and have some great laughs. It has been ages since one checked out a family entertainer like this with so much non-stop humour for more than 2.5 hours. Rating: 🤣🤣🤣🤣1/2

So I’ve been tagged in a few things about favorite drought moments and this phone call I’m gracious that people look back at this and point to it as a “favorite drought moment” I genuinely don’t like talking about myself or this call, but I will say this: I’m really happy the whole #WeAreAllDuane thing happened. It was a fun ride while it lasted and reborn from that was our podcast 2 Goalies 1 Mic with Johnny Cullen and y - Conor Hurley I’ve learned many valuable lessons over the last 6 years. Both good and bad. But wouldn’t trade the end result for anything. We’ve have opportunities to meet some of our favorite players, both former and current, develop long lasting friendships with them, as well as getting to meet and befriend some of the most incredible Sabres and hockey fans along the way. This city, and its people are truly one of a kind. Not to mention the countless, writers, analysts, and hockey personalities who’ve been so gracious with their time, advice, and now friendship If they clinch tonight it’ll be bitter sweet, but most of all feel even better given what happened Wednesday January 29th, 2020 on WGR. I still listen and wish nothing but the best for those guys. After going through a 17 year playoff drought, and now a 14 year one, I respect the hell out of what those guys do. It can’t be easy to talk everyday about a team that sometimes doesn’t give you much positive to talk about for as long as they have Whether you like or hate me. Or think my “15 minutes are over”, I’ve loved and appreciate every moment I’ve been a Sabres fan, and all moments and memories along the way. NOW LETS GET CUP CRAZY BUFFALO!!! 🎥 born ruffians

WeBuyCars really shocked us with their horrible service !!! Brothers Faan and Dirk van der Walt went from repairing their family’s old, dilapidated cars to founding WeBuyCars, South Africa’s biggest car marketplace. Selling an average of 13,000 cars every month, WeBuyCars has become a household name in South Africa, even listing on the JSE earlier this year. But before the company became what it is today, it was just two brothers with a love of cars and an entrepreneurial spirit. Adriaan Stephanus Scheepers (“Faan”) and Dirk Jacobus Floris (“Dirk”) van der Walt grew up in Bronkorspruit. In 1988, while still in high school, Faan bought his first motorbike, a Yamaha XT500, for R400. He did some work on the motorbike and later sold it for R450. “The entrepreneurial spirit grew within me during those high school years,” Faan said. “I recall having that money in my hands and getting a real kick out of doing a successful deal, and I guess that’s where it all started.” Unfortunately, WeBuyCars had been listed on JSE. You could buy shares for R20 in the beginning, making 84c or more of profit, but shares plummeting and made your portfolio lose value with WeBuyCars. Conditions at their megastores is not the same as it was before, you phone 📞 them and ask for a Afrikaans speaking salesman to assist you, the black receptionist will tell you the system dictates who will deal with you. In my case, a black salesman who could not speak Afrikaans. "They will not allow you to buy a vehicle in the language that makes your purchase more understandable. If you pick up a problem on your vehicle, after you leave, you are screwed, they will not pay your money back or fix your vehicle. You are just a fucking number to them ??? Waiting your ass off, to get helped !! You can’t negotiate a better price, your sales consultant will tell you, "they don’t give the public any discount", but you must know you have to pay around R2 000 more for some admin fee on top of your horrible deal !!!!. This don’t make sense !!! I bought a BMW for Zelda a few years ago, the samething, no bargaining allowed. So, who are you, WeBuyCars, to treat YOUR CUSTOMERS-AND INVESTORS like that ??? “MY VIDEO WILL TELL YOU A DIFFERENT STORY !!! “SHAME ON YOU DIRK AND FAAN VD WALT” I will never buy from WeBuyCars ever again !!!

WTF is OP_NET and WTF is If you’re looking for a REAL OPPORTUNITY during this cycle, then check this out👇 OP_NET (OP_NET) is a groundbreaking metaprotocol that brings advanced smart contract functionality to Bitcoin, overcoming the limitations of previous Bitcoin-based protocols like Ordinals and BRC-20. It leverages Tapscript and a custom virtual machine (OP_VM) to enable complex decentralized applications (dApps), DeFi, and NFTs directly on the Bitcoin, all while using Bitcoin as gas! This combination of programmability + unparalleled security and decentralization presents a UNIQUE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY on Bitcoin. OP_NET has the potential to unlock significant amount of value ($1.3T+) by enabling the first fully programmable layer on the world's most secure blockchain. This means early investors in projects built on OP_NET, like could be in for a WILD ride in the next 12 months! So, WTF is is basically but on Bitcoin. It's easy: create your token-->complete the bonding curve-->have a liquidity pool automatically deployed on (at no cost to you!). Now, we know what you're thinking: "isn't Bitcoin like super slow?" Yeah, it is. Enter: "SlowFi." In case you haven’t heard, SlowFi, is the term people are using to describe the DeFi experience on Bitcoin, where you’ll likely be waiting around 10 minutes for transaction to settle. Here’s the twist, though: this slower pace isn’t a bug—it’s a feature! With more time to think, strategize, and plan your moves, you’re less likely to get caught up in the frantic FOMO that can lead to bad decisions. The slower transaction times give you a better shot at hitting those sweet spots on bonding curves, making it easier to see those curves through to completion. Less volatility = more orderly progress through the curve. This can make it easier for the bonding curve to reach its completion point, as participants have a clearer understanding of price trajectories. SlowFi Sounds Cool But I'm a Fast-Paced Degen, What Can Offer Me? We get it. Not everyone’s cut out for the deliberate, methodical world of SlowFi. If you’re itching for that fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled trading environment, no worries. We got you! will also be launching on Fractal (Fractal Bitcoin), Unisat's Bitcoin sidechain, which is designed for speed and agility (30 sec block times). So, if SlowFi sounds a bit boring to you, just flip the switch on the dashboard and head over to our Fractal iteration where you'll be able to play FAST! The Last Thing We'll Say is This👇 The real reason to get excited about is simple. Whether you’re playing on SlowFi or tearing it up on Fractal, $FUN token stakers are in for a treat. We’ll be sharing our platform's revenue directly with our stakers, meaning every transaction, every trade, every time someone dives into a bonding curve, stakers are getting their cut. This isn’t just about earning tokens; it’s about being a part of our success and growing your stack along with us! It’s a win-win, or better yet, its a fun-fun! 😀 Bitcoin season 2 (SlowFi season) is COMING! Make sure to check out some of the other projects leading the way: SLOHM Finance Stash UNGA (OP_NET) Pepe (OP_NET) Take the orange pill and let's play!!! 💊💊💊

Fun fact: When a critic begins their critique with an obligatory disclaimer than “He’s [doctrinally/scripturally] right” as Rosebrough is forced to concede, you can stop listening, as I did. If at any time in my years as Polemics Santa I’d have ever felt necessary to begin a sermon review with a disclaimer, “Okay, first up. They’re actually right. But I still want denounce them,” I’d have stopped and moved on to a Furtick video. I’ve been told by Defiant Baptist that Rosebrough goes on to gripe and moan with wailing and gnashing of teeth for quite some time about Joel not (subjectively) showing enough loving concern in his (subjective) opinion, apparently able to (omnisciently) read the content and intention of Joel’s heart, while unable to find a single, solitary complaint about the monologue (which I wrote) itself. Nonetheless, despite being unable to find a single point of doctrinal error, he emotionally menstruates all over his video about how mean we are for not giving scripture “in the right spirit.” And yet, when Rosebrough began to criticize me - out of the blue - with demeaning memes, insults, and slanderous accusations, wild accusations, hateful epithets, and failed attempts at humor, I saw no such “right spirit” of correction. Why do Jews get this love, and not Christians? The “coddle heretics / bash Christians” thing - I’ve named it the James White-Wrath Paradigm (the closer you are in doctrine to someone, the more you insult and demean them) - has grown old with many of us. We’re tired of seeing people who profess Christ torn down and verbally assaulted while people who denounce Christ are treated with kid gloves and mollycoddled. According to Defiant Baptist, Rosebrough even called us “Nazis” despite finding no doctrinal flaw. All because of Joel’s TONE. I remember back when real polemicists rejected the tone police, and didn’t enlist with them. But for all of his complaints about the tone, never once did this shipwrecked pirate ever acknowledge that Jesus saved his harshest tone and hardest condemnations for the founders of Rabbinic Judaism, the Pharisees. In fact, if anyone was harsh on the Jews, it wasn’t Joel - it was Jesus. If we are Nazis, I’d hate to hear what Rosebrough would say of the Lord, Christ. But then again, after confessing, “He’s right, but…” the real review stopped, and the vile, unchristian hatred started. The real concern is this. In the Book of 1st John, we aren’t told that our love for Jews is evidence of salvation, but our love of the brethren. And in the garden on the night of Christ’s betrayal, he didn’t say, “By this you’ll be known as my disciples” in regard to how softly and tenderly you treat those who deny Christ, but by loving the brethren. Which is Rosebrough displaying? If you’re going to rebuke someone for not sounding like Jesus - despite the fact they’re literally quoting Him - make sure that you, yourself, don’t sound like the devil.

This American needs to lead the Department of Education “This is my audition to become the head of the US Department of Education - My first act of office will be immediately abolishing the No Child Left Behind Act. Yes, we will be leaving children behind. If they fail a class, they will have to repeat it - My second act is one that I'm very passionate about. We will be bringing zeros back. If you don't know, in many schools in the US right now, students receive 40% or 50% if they do zero work, if they do not complete an assignment. And my school included, and many other schools, are not going to be allowed to give a student a 50% if they do not turn in any work. They will have to receive a zero. Likewise, there will be no completion grades, If you just attempt an assignment, that doesn't mean you get a 55%. Like, if you get a 1 out of 10, you earned a 10% on that assignment, and that's okay. Sometimes failing happens, and we don't need to just inflate the grades just for fun. Grades will reflect students' actual performance and understanding of the content - The third one I'm very excited for as well. Teacher evaluations will take place once a year and teachers will be observed by another current teacher from a different school. Teachers would volunteer to be evaluators. They would get a sub for the day, no questions asked, and then they would evaluate objectively. That way the person evaluating you does not know you and does not have any personal bias towards you. Hopefully. - The fourth one, I think this should be common sense, but I hear that it happens all the time at some schools. Never at mine. But teachers shouldn't be expected to work for free. I hear elementary teachers are doing these before and after work things that they aren't getting paid for, like lunch duty or recess duty or pickup duty, whatever it is. The school needs those things covered. People can volunteer for it, and then they have to get paid for it. They can't force you to cover other people's classes for free. They have to pay you extra if they're gonna take away your lunch or your prep or whatever time that is supposed to be yours and then force you to do something without getting paid. There will be no more voluntelling. Hire this woman. The most important thing we need to do is hold students back and force them to learn the work. No more dumbing down out standards

If you watch this ~50 minute screen recording closely (yeah, I know, it's long; there are also some times when my computer was very slow and laggy, just skip past that part. And at one point I had to run and get my 9-month-old a new bottle and left it on a boring screen, sorry!), I believe you can see real signs of the kind of runaway, recursive AI self-improvement that people have been warning of for a while (Mr. Kurzweil most notably and prophetically). Why do I say that? What's different now? Well, there's a reason my set of agent coding tooling is called the Flywheel. These tools all mutually self-reinforce each other. And they all flow directly into my ntm tool (short for "named_tmux_manager"), which acts as a sort of integration point and nerve center for the tools (this is becoming more true by the minute as I'm now seriously working on ntm). Now, ntm was something I started making to automate some aspects of my workflow, but it was the kind of thing where, until it was perfect, it sort of just slowed me down. So I didn't actually use it even though I kept working on it and trying to improve it, and suggested to users that they try it in my tutorials. Well anyway, I finally got around to "dogfooding" ntm last night, and now it's going to get very dramatically better at an alarming rate. Some of that is from applying my "idea wizard" prompt to generate more useful features and building that stuff out and addressing obvious pain points I encountered during my newfound usage of the tool. But a lot comes from my realization that, once again, ntm's true utility is not as a tool for ME, but for an agent. That is, ntm lets one instance of Claude Code or Codex act as, well, me, do the things that I had been doing manually. Do I wish I had started using ntm earlier? No, for two big reasons: 1) Doing it manually helped me build up my intuition massively, which directly led me down the path of creating useful prompt strategies and workflows; these often began as ad-hoc prompts that I realized could be generalized and made more versatile/universal. Lesson: don't prematurely automate until you have an intimate, intuitive feel for your "core value-add loop." Otherwise you'll have a fully automated system quickly that efficiently and automatically does a stupid or otherwise sub-optimal thing. 2) My eyes have been opened to the beauty and power of Skills. I'm not talking about your garden-variety skills that are just a simple markdown file. I'm talking about true tour-de-force directories of perfectly structured and organized files that are filled with good information, insights, workflows, etc., but presented in a way that is highly optimized for consumption by AI agents, with extreme attention paid to things like perfect progressive disclosure, token density, agent-ergonomics, agent-intuitiveness, etc. And also Skills that go way beyond markdown files, with full integration into Claude Code where it makes sense via hooks, sub-agents, and even Python scripts. These kinds of skills are a qualitative difference in expressive power and usefulness and a total game changer. They are also effectively composable, creating almost an algebra of skills that let you use them together in powerful ways. I'm working on a subscription service website and CLI tool now to share what I've learned here most effectively, stay tuned for that in the coming days. Anyway, I now know what to make and how to make it. So, getting back to that screen recording, what does it show that makes me claim recursive self-improvement is here? If you keep your eye on the upper left tmux pane, that's the "controller" agent. It is using ntm to control all the other panes which are also running Claude Code (but ntm fully supports other agent types like Codex and Gemini-CLI, and it's trivially easy to mix and match them if you wanted to have, say, 8 CCs and 6 Codexes for writing the code and 3 Gemini-CLIs for reviewing code.) Now, there's nothing that crazy about this much so far. But where it starts to get very cool is that as the session continues and we encounter real-world problems, things like my ridiculously overloaded computer that keeps hanging for long periods, Claude Code instances that crash and get into a frozen, unresponsive state, it can learn from that. And you can see it using my skill writing skill to refine its ntm vibe coding skill in real time. And then take that skill and refine it to be more intuitive for itself. Or use my cass tool skill to search all the session histories to look for problems that came up and strategize how to solve them. The most useful part was when, towards the end of the session, I told it to reflect on all the things we had done and problems we encountered. One way it can usefully leverage those reflections is by improving its ntm vibe coding skill to make it cover more edge cases and exigencies. But the other, more fundamental, way is for it to conceive of and design the optimal new features and functionality for ntm itself so that the tool embodies those lessons in a first-class way. This offloads cognition from its brain onto its tooling, just like how a person can lean on spellcheck or a calculator. It codifies correct, effective reasoning at the tool level, where it's more reliable and robust and repeatable. And btw, did you notice what code base it was working on the whole time? It was none other than ntm itself! So as it worked on its own tool, it had reflections and ideas about how to further improve the tool. Now, it could have just as easily gotten those insights and ideas while using ntm to work on a different project, but the fact that it was working on itself is almost gloriously meta and recursive. So by the end, after learning from tending to a big group of agent workers (btw, I have previously emphasized doing everything in a really distributed/decentralized way, where each fungible agent gets identical marching orders that tell it to use my bv tool to find the optimal bead to work on. This does work very well, but occasionally results in some contention and overlap from thundering herd, or at least wastes time/tokens/communication in avoiding that before the agents waste time duplicating work. But in this new ntm-oriented workflow, I was able to have the controller agent in the upper left use bv itself and then optimally parcel out the instructions to each agent so that we could know for sure that there's no overlap), I ended up with a ton of new beads for new features, which I had it optimize and polish a few times. Now I can swap to a new Claude Max account and have the swarm implement all those new features! It should only take a couple passes like the one shown in the screen recording to get everything implemented. Then we can rinse and repeat, having the agent read through the full session histories of each agent and its experience from its own session in sending ntm commands and seeing how they worked out in practice, to come up with the next batch of changes to both its ntm vibe coding skill AND to the ntm tool itself. Do you see how rapidly this turns into Skynet? My mistake earlier was in focusing on making myself a "faster horse" as Henry Ford used to joke about customers wanting before he showed them what they should really want (a Model T). That is, something that would make my experience nicer while doing this agent swarm based development workflow. But the obvious lesson is that you should make all your tooling agent-first because the agents are just better at this stuff. You can still watch, and of course I did add a ridiculous number of very nice human-centric features to ntm that you'll be seeing in the next day or two, but those are really kind of "for fun" to make us humans feel better about the process. All the real value-add is happening "by agents, for agents." PS: Towards the end, you can see me switch to my Mac and tell Claude to improve the skill that I made earlier today for taking the mkv screen recording files from OBS Studio and muxing them into MP4 files for sharing, while downloading songs from YouTube to serve as the background music. I made it so it can also grab the thumbnails and generate little song credit cards that show up in the lower right corner. This worked perfectly the first time! I'll include some screenshots in a response post showing how that worked, but it was awesome to witness. Skills are POWERFUL. I'll also post a link to this video on YouTube if you prefer to watch it there.

Solon Lee (Producer at Kuro Games): Thank You for Playing My Game "Wuthering Waves: Exploring Game Creation Under Unreal Engine." Interview by Nvliu66 When you think of Unreal Engine, what comes to mind? A few days ago, at the Epic Games Shanghai office, I met the producers of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Wuthering Waves. Both games are developed based on Unreal Engine, and they shared the stories behind their game creation. My biggest takeaway was that while a great game stems from a producer's emotional expression, its realization relies on the "escort" of technology. Let's return to the interview scene and listen once more to their unique insights on game development. Wuthering Waves and Unreal Engine Bill Clifford (VP and GM of Unreal Engine at Epic Games): With Wuthering Waves, they used many complex artistic techniques to present this anime style, and it's truly outstanding. They are among the first companies to create a role-playing game in an open world that is also cross-platform, which is another incredible feat. They introduced console-level graphics and combat systems while maintaining a consistent update frequency. Furthermore, as they adopt and integrate new Unreal Engine technologies into the game, the experience is continuously enhanced. It’s a truly inspiring success story. Solon Lee (Producer at Kuro Games): We have grown alongside the updates of the UE engine, including the release of UE5. Throughout the process, we’ve been able to learn from UE’s updates. When UE5 was released, it introduced many new technical features, especially ray tracing. Everyone currently praises the ray tracing effects in Wuthering Waves, which is actually due to the continuous updates of the engine. We found those highlights and ported them over to UE4.26. During this process, our engineers were learning the logic of the engine, following its updates, and developing an engineering mindset and a way of creating visual effects. So, my biggest personal takeaway is that choosing a top-tier engine doesn’t just make the game better; it makes us better in the process. "Punishing: Gray Raven" was developed on the Unity platform, while "Wuthering Waves" is based on Unreal. What was the reasoning behind this change at the time? Solon Lee: Psychologically, we don’t have a heavy dependence. We don't feel that just because we've used Unity, we must continue using it. We are a bit more pragmatic. When we were about to start Wuthering Waves, we clearly knew we wanted to make an open world. UE obviously offers more support for open worlds. We felt that "standing on the shoulders of giants" to make a game was definitely a more practical decision. At that time, we could also sense that most engineers in the industry had an aspiration toward UE. "Wuthering Waves" has been live for a year and a half. At this stage, could you use a short summary or a few words to introduce "Wuthering Waves" to the players? Solon Lee: Wuthering Waves is a game that strives to continuously create resonance with players. From the excitement and design of the action to the scriptwriting and performances, we strive to find "highlight segments" or moments in every version that can trigger internal resonance, touch the heart, or make players "scream" with excitement. This is actually a creative consensus our team has slowly formed over the past year. When we find that moment in a version and we ourselves "scream" for it, we feel that there is a high probability that when the version is released, it will be recognized by the users. Because the most important thing about a game is that it must be fun, as developers, we often think about what kind of game qualifies as "fun." What is a "Fun" Game? Solon Lee: One point I can think of right now is that the rules should be as simple as possible. As soon as you start, after two slashes or casting a skill, you should feel, "Wow, that was so cool! I want to do it again! Wow, so cool!" Specifically for action games, the "fun" is often hidden in very small granularities. For example, if you compare two different games where you are just running and jumping, the running in some games feels fun. Why? It might just be because the "grip" is better, the animation swing feels better, or it gives you a sense of gravity or momentum. Whether a point in a game is fun can be subjective. For me, there are a few games that have had a significant influence on my work. One is definitely NieR; when we were making Punishing: Gray Raven in the early days, we were very inspired by NieR. When Devil May Cry 5 came out, it gave us a lot of new inspiration for our combat system. Death Stranding is indeed one of my personal favorite games from recent years. When Elden Ring was released, it also gave us a very strong impression and touched us deeply. The project for Wuthering Waves started in the first half of 2020. At that time, there were very few open-world action games on the market because most action games back then were stage-based (linear/hub-based). All excellent action games required very tight level design. Later, Elden Ring came out, and experiencing it gave us strong resonance. We felt that action games definitely have potential in an open world, and we believe it should be that way. A Message to the Players Solon Lee: I am truly grateful that so many players like Wuthering Waves. It is because of everyone’s love whether it's encouragement or criticism that we are given a lot of motivation to maintain our continuous passion to make our game better. I believe the only way we can give back to the players who like Kuro and Wuthering Waves is by producing better and better versions and content, and making more and more great games. Happy New Year, and thank you for playing my game. translated by Xu #WutheringWaves #WuWa

Tim Walz’s Hunting Gaffe Explained:🧵 I’ve done a lot of pheasant hunting. As a high schooler, I made extra $ assisting guides on pheasant hunts: getting the hunters in the field, flushing game for them to easily shoot, and making sure they are safe. And much more since those days. You learn to spot the guys who are a potential danger to themselves and others. Everything about them is new: the shotgun, the gear, the clothing. They look like they’ve just stepped out of an LL Bean catalog. This isn’t meant as a criticism. But if you’re leading the hunt it’s a visual clue that he’s probably new to this and, in his excitement, he went to his local hunting store bought all the gear in an effort to look like one of the guys. It tells you to keep an eye on him and to be ready to offer quiet instruction so as not to embarrass him. I don’t fault Walz for clearly being inexperienced with firearms and hunting. Anyone who is proficient in either had to learn sometime. For most of us, I think, the scorn heaped upon him is due to the fraudulent nature of it all. What VP candidate takes a day off to go hunting? Well, they don’t unless they see it as a photo op. Dems realize Americans think Walz is a beta male weirdo, so some campaign genius said, “I got it! He’ll go hunting! He’ll look manly!” With the exception of “The Natural,” I generally hate sports movies because the lead actor usually looks like he’s never played sports in his life. Watching Walz handle a shotgun is like watching Keanu Reeves throw a football in “The Replacements.” It’s painful. (Robert Redford was believable as an aging baseball player because he clearly played the game as a boy. Same with Kevin Costner in “For the Love of the Game.”) In this video, Walz appears to be having difficulty loading his shotgun while on a pheasant hunt. He tells the reporter, whose questioning tone suggests she’s not buying any of this, that it’s a Beretta A400. The A400 is a semi-auto shotgun. Many guides don’t allow semi-autos on a hunt because they can’t see at a distance that you’re “safe.” A break-action double-barrel is therefore preferred since they can tell when your gun cannot be fired (be it loaded or not). This is because the barrel is on a hinge that “breaks” open to permit manual loading. And this is very important for safety. I would wager that most accidental shotgun deaths involve semi-autos. This is all the more important in pheasant hunting. Unlike, say, deer hunting where you might sit in a tree all day long by yourself, pheasant hunting is typically done in large groups where the hunters are arranged in a crescent and marched through a field toward “blockers,” that is, hunters who stand still in a line. The idea is to drive the birds into the blockers and force them to flight. Hunting in such close proximity with other hunters can be dangerous for a variety of reasons: the birds fly parallel to the ground at head level, excitable hunters start blasting away at everything that moves or don’t wait for the birds to reach a safe height, accidental discharges, etc. A guide wants to see that your weapon is open and therefore inoperable in all but the hunt. The loading port on the A400 is beneath the weapon near the trigger guard. This type of loading is an acquired skill, and Walz doesn’t have it. (I’ll add that Walz says he bought it for trap shooting. In this he is correct. I wouldn’t want to use an A400 pheasant hunting. It’s not a field gun. It’s heavy. But it’s excellent for clays.) He fumbles around and, sensing he’s making a fool of himself, he appears to stop before he’s managed to get it loaded. As you can see, this carefully choreographed hunt wasn’t so carefully choreographed. It’s become Tim Walz’s Michael Dukakis-in-the-tank moment. It’s also noteworthy that in this gaffe Democrats, for all their faux rage about “toxic masculinity,” unwittingly pay homage to masculinity and its appeal. They do know what it is. They just don’t know how to practice it.

‡ Might (the) Grass Ultimately Prove Greener? Golden Tempo, a two-year-old colt by Curlin, owned and bred by Phipps Stable & St. Elias Stables, LLC, recently won his debut in eye-catching style. It was a 6f. MSW race at the Fair Grounds, and he came from the clouds, as they say, to win going away. He earned a 78 Beyer figure, and a 12 on Ragozin sheets. The attached video clip begins roughly midway through the turn, with the announcer saying that "Golden Tempo has dropped back to last", but the colt actually raced at the back of the pack from just after the break. With only one race under his belt, it is a bit early to be making confident assumptions, particularly as he was both bred to be, and appears to be a later-developing physical type. But the challenge of using even scant available evidence to make projections can be both fun, and potentially useful. So let's dive in. *** Given the colt's pedigree and physical type, I would say that it would be safe to assume that he will prove better suited to longer races, though the question of whether or not he is likely to stay effectively beyond 9f. is very much open at this early stage. What interests me the most, though, are a couple of more nuanced, and possibly connected aspects of Golden Tempo's debut, and what they may imply when filtered through the lens of his pedigree and physical characteristics. First, does the fact that the colt rallied from last to win over 6f., a distance well short of those to which he is likely to prove better suited, necessarily imply that he is a "one-run" horse? Or will he, given more ground, and experience, prove capable of displaying good tactical speed? I would note that when inexperienced horses fail to break alertly, and/or take some time to get their feet under them after the break, some, like Golden Tempo, lag back for a few furlongs before mounting a late run, while others show some, if not a burst of speed, earlier in the running. I think it's fair to say that broadly speaking, the former are more likely to prove to be one-run types than the latter. While that is far from sufficient evidence to confidently assume that Golden Tempo will necessarily turn out to be a one-run horse, it does at least hint in that direction. Another, even more nuanced hint, is his action. When I first watched the replay of the race, my initial thought was that the colt was finishing like a typical one-run horse. What do I mean by that? The best way to explain it is to say that he appears, in a sense, to be pulling with his forelegs, more than pushing from behind. The distinction is subtle, so bear with me. Dirt surfaces are, albeit to differing degrees, "break-away" surfaces. Think of what it is like when you run on a beach over loose sand, as opposed to concrete, or a running track. Some horses handle dirt surfaces well, while others don't, and there are several variables that contribute to such preferences. Pedigree is, of course, a primary consideration, but often the more important variables are conformation, physical type, and action. In the U.S., dirt horses are often, though not always, more heavily muscled than those best suited to turf. I'd suggest that one of the more likely reasons is that speed is such an important quality in American dirt racing, and muscular horses, especially through the hind-quarters, are typically able to accelerate more quickly. It may also be the case that strong propulsion from behind helps horses to, in a sense, power through looser surfaces. There are exceptions, of course, and plenty of them. Fierceness, to use a recent example, had a very high cruising speed, yet was not heavily muscled, nor did he have a powerful looking hind end. But every aspect of the game features exceptions, and they help to define, rather than diminish the value of pattern recognition. Beyond the "pulling" action that I mentioned above, I found the embedded photo posted by his trainer to be interesting as well. While it's not an ideal conformation shot, he does give the impression of a leggy, later-developing type, and not yet fully "furnished", despite being an early February foal. He also gives me the impression, both overall and in terms of foreleg conformation, of a horse that would likely be suited to turf racing. Now, needless to say, due to typical preferences and the incentives found in American racing, there is little, if any chance of Golden Tempo ever racing on turf, as long as he continues to perform well on dirt. But setting that aside, I dug into his pedigree in an effort to see if there were any further hints to be found. Superficially, it's easy to see why most would assume that the colt was bred to be a dirt horse. After all, his sire, Curlin, and dam-sire, Bernardini, were both dirt performers, and are best known as sires of dirt horses. His dam, Carrumba, also performed well on dirt. However, on closer inspection, I wouldn't be so confident in that thumbnail reading. Consider that Golden Tempo does not closely resemble Curlin, in part in terms of coat color. And while many would consider that to be of little importance, I would disagree, based on long experience. What I mean is that I have often found value in connecting the appearance of horses which don't closely resemble their own sires, with other genetic influences that are not too distant. And in this case, I would say that Golden Tempo reminds me more of Curlin's sire, Smart Strike, and some of his offspring. Though he only raced on dirt himself, Smart Strike got plenty of good turf horses (e.g. Champion English Channel) through a successful career at stud. As for Golden Tempo's dam, Carrumba, she has thus far produced one other foal to race, Hype House, a filly which failed to place in three starts. She was trained by Shug McGaughey, and, interestingly, all three of her starts were on turf. His second-dam, Castanet, was by El Prado (Ire). Though a versatile sire, El Prado produced top turf horses such as Artie Schiller and Kitten's Joy. Castanet was also trained by Shug McGaughey, and she only started twice. The first race was on dirt, and the second on turf, in which she placed third. Castanet produced Dancing All Night, a filly also trained by Shug McGaughey, which began her career with a number promising dirt races, before appearing to plateau, and being switched to the turf for her final two starts. That she was unplaced in both (the latter was taken off the turf) is not nearly as important, to my mind, as why Shug might have chosen to make the surface switch. Golden Tempo's third-dam, Dancinginmydreams, produced the Gr. I turf winner Dancing Forever, and several other good turf runners. So, while I wouldn't say that Golden Tempo's bottom-line screams turf, it has been more than versatile enough to consider the possibility, given other hints, or encouragements. *** Finally, there is a good chance that this analysis will ultimately prove to be purely academic, and I'd be perfectly happy to see Golden Tempo thrive on dirt, and perhaps develop into a serious KY Derby prospect. But if, by chance, he were to plateau at some point, or for any other reason be given an opportunity to try the turf, I have a fairly strong suspicion that he would adapt very well, and reward the colt's connections.
