Strata (BitVM2 style) bridge Whiteboard Session: TL;DR -- BitVM2 is complex, but it appears ZK verification on #Bitcoin can be a reality. With it we can add scale and expressivity to Bitcoin with the least amount of trust possible—no soft forks needed (but they’d help!).

A few points of clarification after I recorded: - @robin_linus and @citrea_xyz team came up with the stake-chains idea (S/O @ekrembal), then was further optimized by @AlpenLabs. - The cost to assert is down to 2.5mb according to @AlpenLabs teams. Likely a few other things I slightly got wrong. Please feel free to comment on any corrections.

Adding -- Most normies will never use this bridge. They'll instead on-board directly to the rollup, or use atomic swap bridges like @Boltzhq. The intention of these bridges is for larger players to maintain the peg and be the foundation.

@Strata_BTC I heard the mustache compresses the proof size by 90% Is this true?

@Strata_BTC This is mind blowing David. Was the best succinct explanation I've seen so far. Cryptography is awesome. Thanks for all your hard work.

@Strata_BTC 🙏🏼

@Strata_BTC @HHorsley please watch.

@Strata_BTC impressive

@lightcoin @Strata_BTC Great video overview. Much appreciated! PoW has hashing difficulty as an objective source of truth, but PoS is much easier to arbitrarily fork afaik. How do PoS chains deal with the issue of proving use of the canonical chain?

@Strata_BTC Great presentation 👏
