Who is dumping garbage under this flyover near MES Road behind JP Park? And why has this garbage still not been cleaned? The amount of waste piled up here clearly shows this is not garbage thrown in just one day. People have been continuously using this place as an illegal dumping spot without any fear or civic responsibility. Plastic waste, food packets, and other trash are scattered everywhere, turning the area into a health hazard and an eyesore for the public.What happened to basic civic sense? Public spaces and roads are not dumping yards. It is disappointing to see people carelessly throwing garbage wherever they want and then expecting the city to remain clean. Such irresponsible behavior not only damages the environment but also affects the image of Bengaluru. At the same time, authorities also need to answer why this garbage has been allowed to pile up for so long without proper cleaning or monitoring. If regular inspections and strict action were taken, these areas would not turn into mini garbage landfills under flyovers.Both the public and authorities share responsibility here. In the worst case scenario, the guards could have simply let them go and caught them later, there is nowhere to hide for long here. Did Maafushi have an airport? Was there a jet waiting to take them away? No. If this were US, Canada, India, Australia or Brazil, there would be a legitimate fear that the convicts might flee, evade capture or even cross borders. Those countries have rivers, jungles and mountains where escapees could disappear. But not Maldives. There is never a justifiable reason for law enforcement to use firearms against Maldivian civilians, cause our country is flat and has no place to hide for more than a few hours. Residents Slam Authorities Over Broken Roads At Hosa Road, near Rayasandra Circle, right in front of Mahaveer Ranches, the condition of the road has been appalling for over a month now. The entire stretch is completely broken, riddled with deep potholes, muddy patches, and craters big enough to swallow a scooter. For residents, office-goers, school buses and even ambulances, this has turned into a daily obstacle course rather than a public road. We keep hearing tall claims about “Brand Bengaluru” and the city’s transformation under the current leadership, yet basic infrastructure like roads continues to remain neglected for weeks at a time. Despite repeated complaints from citizens, no visible action has been taken to repair this stretch or even to provide a temporary fix to prevent further deterioration. It’s understandable that infrastructure projects take time, but leaving a key connecting road in this state for more than a months shows a serious gap between promises and ground reality. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and the civic authorities often talk about turning Bengaluru into a world-class city perhaps they could start by ensuring at least a drivable road for its taxpayers. “Brand Bengaluru,” really? Citizens pay road tax, property tax, fuel tax, and various other charges, yet basic road infrastructure continues to deteriorate. During the rainy season, these roads get flooded and resemble small lakes, making travel dangerous and difficult. When there is no rain, the situation is hardly any better, as loose gravel, broken surfaces, and potholes pose risks to motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Bengaluru is known as India's technology capital, but many of its roads continue to reflect poor planning, delayed maintenance, and a lack of accountability. Attempt to Kill? XL6 Driver Drags Man on Bonnet in Broad Daylight In Bengaluru A shocking case of road rage was caught on camera on 11th February 2026 at around 12:45 PM on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru. In the disturbing visuals, a Maruti Suzuki XL6 bearing registration number KA03NN4501 can be seen speeding recklessly while a man is lying on the bonnet of the moving vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was driving at a very high speed, endangering not only the man on the bonnet but also other commuters on the busy stretch. The man on the bonnet was seen shouting and pleading with the driver to stop the car, but the driver allegedly continued to accelerate without concern for human life. The act has raised serious concerns about public safety and reckless behavior on city roads. Such behavior is not just irresponsible it is criminal. Dragging a person on the bonnet of a speeding car shows a complete disregard for human life and traffic laws. Roads are meant for safe travel, not for settling personal disputes in a life-threatening manner. Incidents like these could have easily resulted in a fatality.Upon further verification, it has come to light that the driver is reportedly a previous offender in cases related to rash driving. Additionally, checks revealed that the vehicle’s insurance policy had expired, which is another violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.
