Strength training is important as we age. I am doing a science based exercise program with active recovery. Today did a 150 Kg x 30 sec x 2 Farmers hold. Today was a posterior chain day and did deaslifts peak 95 Kg x5 Farmers walk 100 Kg x 15...

Exercises. I joke that I am so surprised with the science based lifting approach that gave me insane gains ! At 60 years and 57Kgs this is an important improvemen in all my metabolic parameters and DEXA scan. Aging is inevitable but to keep healthy as long as possible is the goal

In fact I tell my friends I could probably train athletes because I am leveraging my Cardiovascular knowledge and sports physiology knowledge to maximise my gains. My stomach circumference has come down by 15 cms from November and my peak lifts were trap bar 120 kg x 3 deadlift

Sumo deadlift at 100 Kg x3 Farmers walk 120 Kg x 15 meters x 4 and Sandbag bear hug Carry of 70 Kg x 45 meters and 65 Kg x 60 meters at a weight then of 56 Kg. This years goal is agility balance improvement and to do a roman ring muscle up and floor planche 😁

Excellent sir 👍 If you don't mind I want to say something. In strength training, a lifting belt does not actually support your back directly... instead, it serves as a rigid wall for your torso to push against during the valsalva maneuver. Please learn this technique.

Prasannasimha🇮🇳's profile picture
Prasannasimha🇮🇳3 months ago

Just to note you cannot hold in valsalva for that long in Farmers hold and Farmers walk or else you will pass out due to a vasovagal response so its a braced core with guided breathing to maintain intra-abdominal pressure and not a single hold breath Valsalva. You can see it

Thank you, sir. Your video happened to appear in my feed, and I commented based on a quick observation without fully understanding the context of your training approach. 1/4

What I find most impressive is seeing someone with your professional achievements and experience continue to pursue strength training so seriously and thoughtfully. That combination of knowledge, discipline, and learning is truly inspiring. 3/4

Sure. If it encourages people I will do so as that's the objective because if I can do it others can definitely do so

That is precisely why your videos matter, sir. People are more likely to be inspired by an example than by advice. I have been away from strength training since 2022, but your video has motivated me to start again from this evening. Thank you.

I love this! I've untreated umbilical hernia for the last 12 years, it is not growing and I do lift moderate weights & take care of breathing. Can I do this with lesser weight (20kgs each hand=40kgs) and perhaps add more distance? Would that help?

Prasannasimha🇮🇳's profile picture
Prasannasimha🇮🇳3 months ago

You can. Not exercising leading to muscle and tendon laxity is actually going to worsen it

Ashu Bhusari's profile picture

Thank you. That's my thought too. It's about 2.5 cms, and only comes out incase of indigestion or bloating. I avoid wheat, rice and everything that might upset my stomach. I also have a purpose built abdominal brace belt while exercising.

@Prasannasimha Why are you not going for surgery?

Ashu Bhusari's profile picture

@Prasannasimha Mostly fear of losing my ability to do weight training but also I've seen people who operated almost always had complications within 5 years. Also, I don't want to lose my navel🤣 That would be so unaesthetic

I do it as a part of my chaos tabata power HIIT training on Wednesdays. 20 Kg Kettlebell 20 s on 10 sec off x 8 rounds AMRAP in every 20sec is one of my tabata rounds.

Would light weights but more reps (to failure) be enough?

Prasannasimha🇮🇳's profile picture
Prasannasimha🇮🇳3 months ago

It depends on goals. As one ages heavy weight resistance training is needed to prevent sarcopenia (muscle loss) and osteoporosis ( Boeing density loss) low weight high reps are for athletc/ endurance work. Medium weight in average rep range for muscle hypertrophy low rep high

Prasannasimha🇮🇳's profile picture
Prasannasimha🇮🇳3 months ago

Weight is needed for strength training. I do all in a structured way though not really for aesthetic muscle hypertrophy( bodybuilding) but for preventing sarcopenia. You can see that despite me lifting 2.6 times my Bodyweight I am nit exactly "muscular". You need t9 define goals

Prasannasimha🇮🇳's profile picture
Prasannasimha🇮🇳3 months ago

And train accordingly. There us a lot 9f science to it and its nit just about training but recovery. I use an AI based method that I have trained to program my diet recovery sleep exercise socI can also eff8ciently do my surgery and other work too and not overtrain

Krishnan Guruswamy's profile picture
Krishnan Guruswamy3 months ago

Curious how you went about asking AI to do it? Just plug in personal details etc and say draw me a plan?

Prasannasimha🇮🇳's profile picture
Prasannasimha🇮🇳3 months ago

No you have to train it ir else AI will lie confabulate and hallucinate. I use Copilot Gemini and Perplexity. Prinary prompts in Copilot and criss check with Gemini. Perplexity is used for specific criss checking. I have a huge amount of data from my polarH10 monitor Garmin watch

Requires losing weight and some form of HIIT training and breathing exercises. I do power chaos tabata HIIT. My VO2 max is 50. Nite that watch MvO2 is notoriously inaccurate. In fact very often junk and is extrapolated data.

Do you have a special regimen for recovery?

Prasannasimha🇮🇳's profile picture
Prasannasimha🇮🇳3 months ago

Yes indeed. Thats the key to being able to recover adequately at my age. Before this my recovery time between deaslifts used to need 10 days and I was stalling. Now I do it weekly and progressed

Quantum mechanics has a reputation for being mystical mainly because people skip the rules and jump to interpretations. In this lecture series, we’re doing the opposite. We start from the rules, follow the algebra, and let the picture be the calculation. Classical Probability Theory combines alternatives by adding their probabilities. Quantum Theory combines them one step earlier…add complex amplitudes first, then square at the end. That swap in order is everything. Expand |a₁ + a₂|² and you don’t just get |a₁|² + |a₂|²…you get a cross-term, 2 Re(a₁ a₂*). Its sign is set by phase, so the same two contributions can reinforce or cancel. Interference is just the algebra of squaring a sum. In the 3D render, the surface height is proportional to |a(x)| (so peaks become bright bands after squaring), while the surface skin is colored by the local phase arg(a(x)). As the phase knob φ(t) is swept on path 2, the cross-term oscillates, and you literally watch the interference ridges slide across the screen. We model a detector screen with coordinates x in R² (think x = (x,y)). A quantum state assigns a complex amplitude a(x). The rule for outcomes is p(x) = |a(x)|² Now the key situation: two coherent alternatives contribute to the same outcome x. Let their amplitudes be a₁(x) and a₂(x). Quantum says a(x) = a₁(x) + a₂(x) So the probability density becomes p(x) = |a₁(x) + a₂(x)|² Expand it (this is the whole episode): p(x) = (a₁ + a₂)(a₁* + a₂*) = |a₁|² + |a₂|² + a₁ a₂* + a₁* a₂ = |a₁|² + |a₂|² + 2 Re(a₁ a₂*) That last term is the interference term. It can be positive or negative. To see phase explicitly, write each contribution in polar form: a₁(x) = r₁(x) exp(i θ₁(x)) a₂(x) = r₂(x) exp(i θ₂(x)) Then a₁ a₂* = r₁ r₂ exp(i(θ₁ − θ₂)) So the cross-term is 2 Re(a₁ a₂*) = 2 r₁ r₂ cos(θ₁(x) − θ₂(x)) That’s the fringe engine: p(x) = r₁² + r₂² + 2 r₁ r₂ cos(Δθ(x)) Now the phase knob we animate: Add a controllable phase shift φ to path 2: a₂(x) → a₂(x) exp(i φ) Then Δθ(x) → Δθ(x) − φ, so p(x; φ) = r₁² + r₂² + 2 r₁ r₂ cos(Δθ(x) − φ) As φ changes smoothly, the bright/dark pattern slides continuously. Same setup, same geometry, same magnitudes r₁,r₂, only phase changed. #QuantumMechanics #WaveInterference #ComplexAmplitudes #DoubleSlit #Physics #Mathematics
