Time is crucial in heart attack, limb ischemia, sepsis, haemorrhage and so on - but you can’t make everything cat 1!

Thrombectomy transfers (IFT 2) would be attended within 20 mins, then my local thrombectomy centres can be reached within 40 mins on blues. HOWEVER all the Ambulances are being held outside EDs and used as overflow cubicles, therefore your IFT 2 takes hours to be dispatched.

As far as I can tell, Cat 1 seems to be reserved for people who are already dead nowadays.

Fully agree with you mr nayak I had a stroke 11 years ago and it was only the quick response by the paramedics that saved my life!!! All the best for the future Steve and Chris in Yorkshire

Actually I think there is a misunderstanding about ambulance response times There is little that can be done on scene for a stroke. It needs an ambulance Cat 1 calls get the nearest trained response, followed by an ambulance (C1T) The target for C2 is faster than C1T

#WATCH | Delhi | On the start of Brain Stroke Special Ambulance services in other states, ICMR Director General Dr Rajiv Bahl says, “This program was the mobile stroke unit, which was one of the first in the world… We have established this at the same time as any other country in the world. The difference is other countries have done it in big cities; we have done it in the northeast, the most vulnerable, to bring the services close to them… As a brain stroke can also be caused by bleeding, therefore a CT scan is necessary... So an ambulance with a small CT scan, which is enough to tell you whether this is a brain bleed or a brain clot and if it is a clot, then the ambulance itself is equipped to start the treatment then and there, because every minute is precious. If you can treat stroke within the first two to four hours of stroke, you can save a lot of paralysis and function…”

Guys, I'm currently in Greece on the Athos Peninsula, where the Holy Mountain and its monasteries are dedicated to the Virgin Mary (the Theotokos). This is the first time I've seen constant lightning for over an hour. This is not a time-lapse, it's happening in real time right now. It's been going on continuously for the last half hour or so.

Today, we asked the City of Bozeman to proclaim October 14, 2025 as “Debate Is Not Hate Day.” At a time when our community is divided over housing, land use, infrastructure, and symbolic decisions such as adopting the “pride” flag as an official city flag, and in the wake of national events that have deepened polarization, we believe it is critical for the City to reaffirm that every voice is welcome and that disagreement should never lead to violence. We are also asking Mayor Cunningham to make a clear statement condemning the political violence we witnessed this week, just as he did following the murder of Minnesota Representative Melissa Hortman earlier this year, to show that Bozeman will not tolerate violence as a response to differing viewpoints. This proclamation, paired with a strong public statement, would send a clear message: Bozeman and its leadership stand for respectful dialogue, hearing and considering all perspectives in good faith, and leaving personal politics aside to build a future that reflects the whole community. We have requested that the proclamation be read at the October 7th City Commission meeting since there will not be a meeting on October 14th following Columbus Day. It is a sad reflection that a country’s president deploys a full motorcade to go and commission a single borehole while the nation is in distress. This comes at a time when he is asking for an additional two years to complete what he or his supporters describe as critical projects. The real question is whether he is not wasting valuable time on trivial activities instead of focusing on these so-called important priorities. I am just concerned as a citizen.
