Time is crucial in heart attack, limb ischemia, sepsis, haemorrhage and so on - but you can’t make everything cat 1!
Thrombectomy transfers (IFT 2) would be attended within 20 mins, then my local thrombectomy centres can be reached within 40 mins on blues. HOWEVER all the Ambulances are being held outside EDs and used as overflow cubicles, therefore your IFT 2 takes hours to be dispatched.
As far as I can tell, Cat 1 seems to be reserved for people who are already dead nowadays.

Fully agree with you mr nayak I had a stroke 11 years ago and it was only the quick response by the paramedics that saved my life!!! All the best for the future Steve and Chris in Yorkshire
Actually I think there is a misunderstanding about ambulance response times There is little that can be done on scene for a stroke. It needs an ambulance Cat 1 calls get the nearest trained response, followed by an ambulance (C1T) The target for C2 is faster than C1T
