Wow saving $30 a week is definitely going to help a young student buy a home! 🤦‍♂️

No, but their wealthy parents who fund their schooling do. My son went to Bond on the Gold Coast, and almost all of the high-end apartments around the Uni were purchased by wealthy overseas families.

Students come here, don’t show up to class and instead bid on real estate with their family money from Asia

Students do not buy houses. We know you failed your first year at uni but you are a special kind of stupid.

Him telling the journalist that they are praising his petrol excise is wild gaslighting

Oh no ….I think you misunderstood #temutrump is incentivising them to drive an hour and a half and then sleep in their car How can they afford a house I mean Peter Dutton is all about the cost of living, not giving a f**k about it that is #auspol

Treating foreign students like political punching bags is disgusting. Does the present LNP have any decency and realistic understanding of governance ? These students become ambassadors for Australia in their home countries.

Journalist doesn’t understand basic economics. If there are fewer renters in the city, vacancies rise, rents drop to meet demand, yields fall, landlords sell because less profitable, prices drop, more buyers buy in the city rather than elsewhere and domino effect to donnybrook.

You must admit brown students drive down standards in pretty much every area they’re in, regardless of whether they were born here or not

He totally hijacked the question. What she meant Peter is how does fiddling around the edges with International student numbers help those in places clearly NOT affected by said student numbers (because it is an hour and half drive each way) with not being able to find or afford a place to live. In other words why are you ignoring everyone and not cutting immigration significantly until we can get back on to of the situation ? Que Bono ?

Just to be clear, are you in good faith making the argument that international students and Immigration generally are not major contributing factors to Australia's housing crisis ?

News flash: most of them hardly turn up to the classes they’re enrolled in. “Students” in visa application name only.

Talk about answering a question that was never asked (from multiple angles: 1. Asked about travelling to uni by train-moves to talking about uni students owning gas guzzlers, 2. Then to his flagship petrol excise policy, 3. Praises journo for making a good point (his point) (1/2)

#Dutton under pressure reverting to norm - racist dog whistling, blaming overseas people for all our issues. Disgraceful.

Go to any suburban housing auction today. The only ones bidding at today’s stupid prices are boomers and wealthy superannuants. No students, no young families and certainly no immigrants.

Yes foreign students often have houses purchased with help from families back in their native county. If they don’t buy they will rent, adding pressure to current supply.
