Today Premier Danielle Smith had to roll back her tyrannical attempt to keep Alberta school kids stupid after a list went public of all the books that — by her criteria — contained “explicit sexual content.” SEE VIDEO BELOW👇 Now she’s paused the ministerial order that forced schools to remove books that contain explicit content in “a written passage, illustration, photographic or digital image, video or audio file,” because those criteria rule out classic books like The Handmaid’s Tale, The Great Gatsby, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. The premier is trying to blame the schools for her own authoritarian overreach … as if they were supposed to somehow read between the lines of the VERY DETAILED ORDER and do anything other than what it actually said 🙄 Good thing for Alberta students that Margaret Atwood herself (and many others) called out the premier on this boneheaded move.
