What have Jantar Mantar Protests achieved? It is a freedom movement for education. It is liberation. Education is now mainstream. It is THE issue. While they discussed religion and caste, students are a political class in themselves. As we sit now, the impact hasn’t stopped with a silly resignation. It expanded. As I write, there have been more than 200+ cases of students protesting for basic infrastructure - teachers, food, fans, lights, toilets etc. And many are getting resolved too. This will only fuel others to hit the streets demanding basic rights. The administration is scared. Independent journalists are fanning across the country focussing on education issues. The political class has no answers. Education is mainstream. Bureaucracy is running scared. States are running to fix school infra issues. Bar Council of India had to withdraw an anti student circular in 40 minutes. Magistrates are running to school on demand. The CJP campaign of ‘School Thik Karo’ will further expand reach and create ground level impact. These protests are not about to die. You have a cockroach in every home. Nothing will happen by abusing GenZ. They are what our third-class education system made them. They were blank slates; our education system turned them into woke slaves. Many say they are the product of bad parenting, but they forget that their parents are also products of the same education system. The British designed it in 1835 to destroy our reasoning abilities and turn us into obedient slaves. Muslim scholars realised this and established their parallel education system. Congress carried it forward after 1947 but allowed Muslims to continue running their parallel education system. BJP has also been carrying forward the same education system since 2014. Though we are also products of the same education system, we were lucky. At that time there was no social media, so we got plenty of time to spend with family, community, elders, and grandparents. But GenZ are not lucky. First, the education system has become more woke. Then came CIA-controlled social media and OTT platforms. BJP got 12 years to correct this education system. What did Smriti Irani, Prakash Javadekar, and Dharmendra Pradhan do? They made it more leftist and more woke. A woke leftist person will never align with the BJP. It was supposed to happen, I have been warning this from last 5 years There is still time. Change the education system now.

This is what happens to the youth of Kashmir when they dare to speak & the king’s throne shakes. The ruling club gets together to outlaw their voices & turn dissent into a chargesheet. What crime did this young boy commit? Under which law and section can he even be booked? Is speaking truth fearlessly to power now a crime? Why was there no press conference when students cried out for basic classrooms, for broken benches, for labs without equipment, for fair exams? In any normal system, the education body would have stood by the student, because he broke no law. But here, they rushed to shield the politician. Then they had the audacity to lecture us that “people are playing politics,” while throughout the press conference they acted as nothing more than party loyalists in academic robes, presenting a young soul as a pawn. What a misfortune that these people claim to represent the education body and insist everything in the education system is fine and we are progressing. If we face the facts, our education system is collapsing. More than 100 colleges registered fewer than 100 students each in 2026. University admissions are declining exponentially because the youth have lost faith. This is not progress but decay, and you present it as development and praise the master.

I literally can’t believe what I just watched Michigan is ranked 44th in 4th grade reading nationally and only 38% of 3rd graders are proficient in reading So lawmakers passed a new law. Now in schools students will be taught to sound out words…. This had been moved away from and instead students were being told to just use a different word if they didn’t know how to pronounce the word they were trying to read I can’t believe this is how low we’ve sunk as a country…… Teacher in Michigan explains how they have been teaching. “So if the sentence was, "We are meeting after school," and a student got to the word ‘meeting’ and they didn't know how to read the word ‘meeting,’ I might have said, "Use the words that you do know.” Whoever has done this to our education system needs to be locked up. ARE SCHOOLS SAFE???? WHY ARE CLASSROOMS BEING RISKED IN THE NAME OF FUNDING POLICIES? A teacher enforces a basic school rule… and gets violently attacked because a student couldn’t handle having a gaming device taken away. Let that sink in. When did confiscating electronics become grounds for assault? We can have compassion for students struggling with behavioral or mental health challenges…but compassion without boundaries turns into chaos. Teachers are there to educate, not to become punching bags. Other students are there to learn, not to sit in fear wondering who might snap next. If a student has documented violent tendencies, why are classrooms being treated like experimental holding zones instead of safe learning environments? Schools have a duty to protect everyone…staff and students alike. Support services matter. Mental health resources matter. But so does safety. At what point do we stop pretending this is “just a bad day” and start admitting the system is failing the majority? HOW MANY WARNING SIGNS HAVE TO BE IGNORED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT?

She has students that she has written an incident report on every single day. She has contacted the principal and the support staff and the help that was given to her was to email the parents of the students. Basically, no help or support at all. We have many epidemics in our country but this is one of the biggest that doesn’t get enough attention. We all know our school system is a failure but even more than we know. Students these days have zero consequences. They are passed with straight F’s. They are allowed to be a continuing distraction and disruption in the classrooms and nothing is done about it. We need to start over. 💯 Why do we allow this this as a school? As a district? As a city? As a state? As a country? It didn’t use to be like this? Dr. Njoki Fernandes sat on a television studio and told Kenyans that there is a private school for every pocket and that parents should stop pushing their children into congested public schools. It is the kind of statement that can only come from someone who has never had to choose between school fees and food. Nobody takes their child to a public school because they prefer it. They take them there because it is what they can afford. The parent in Kibera, the farmer in Turkana, the bodaboda rider in Eldoret did not sit down and weigh private school options against public ones. They had one option and they took it. Dr. Njoki Fernandes sat on a television studio and told Kenyans that there is a private school for every pocket and that parents should stop pushing their children into congested public schools. It is the kind of statement that can only come from someone who has never had to choose between school fees and food. Nobody takes their child to a public school because they prefer it. Teacher receives zero work from a student. Gives the student a 0. Admin: ‘Nope — give them a 50.’ This is real. And it’s happening in schools right now. No effort = half credit. We were told to give them a 50 because we don’t want the student feeling defeated. 🤬 I refused to give the a 50 for a zero effort….absolutely refused! I was called into the office where I was confronted by the Principal, Superintendent and a couple of other board members. They wanted to understand why I refused to follow the 50 for 0 policy. I quickly told them I became a teacher to educate children. It’s my job to teach and evaluate what my students learn, not to pass them on without making sure they have a solid foundation. The Superintendent then said that a 50 is still a failing grade, and I said “yes sir, and when a paper earns a 50 failing grade that is what they will receive, but if a paper earns a 0 then that is the grade they will receive”. How exactly does giving students half credit for no effort prepare kids for reality?

A for Almajiri Education is the foundation of any functioning economy, and Nigerians are some of the most intelligent people in other countries but with most out of school children on planet earth. As a basic human right, it is the responsibility of the whole society to not only advocate for modern curriculums that have practical and realistic value in sustaining the economy of that society in the future, but to hold their leaders accountable when they don’t invest the appropriate resources and relevance into education. This is the reason why Almajiri still exists today in 21st century, while religious education and modern education can be attained together using curriculums that are realistic and set a foundation for the future of the students and their society. Today, I taught my primary 2 students how to make a PPT using iPads. Giving presentations and using smart devices are now common in professional work places and it’s important that start giving my kids those skill sets at a young age. It will build their work ethic, confidence, realistic expectations in life and navigate them to seamlessly fit into any professional environment they find themselves in now and the future. An important teaching approach I use here is to show them less of how to do it, and just throw them into the situation to see how they can find their ways and create solutions. Only when they need help is when we show them how to do it. It makes them used to problem solving, resilience, less likely to be lazy and dependent. They themselves will be strong to initiate tackling an unknown problem and develop confidence and humility in asking for help or knowledge when they need it. Nigeria needs proper budget allocation for education and modern/designed curriculums that are useful to students and the country in the future. Vote for leaders who will enthusiastically execute these policies. If they don’t, impeach them and take any necessary action against them because they are not only destroying your economic future, but your children’s future as well. This is my idea.
