The library building was in ruins earlier; we renovated it with the community’s help and provided all necessary facilities. Today, apart from the students who study here regularly, even school children come and ask us if they can study here. This library has significantly boosted the confidence of the youth in our area."

Surat, Gujarat: A modern library developed under the Gujarat government’s ‘Vatan Prem Yojana’ in Nani Bhatlav village of Bardoli taluka has become a major support system for students preparing for competitive exams. Started by young sarpanch Ankit Chaudhary during the Covid period, the library was later expanded with NRI support and government funding. The 24-hour free facility provides books, WiFi and mock test facilities to students from 15 to 20 nearby villages. More than 100 students visit daily, and several former students have secured jobs in government and private sectors.
