This is what I did for 40 years. I formed engine nuts/bolts for jet aircraft. This machine is making a 12 point bolt made of stainless steel. It forges the metal at 16 tons per square inch. I designed and worked with engineers to make the dies. The punches. This is only a 2 die header. When you get up to the 5 die headers, you are in a different category. When forming Titanium, you have to heat the wire to 1200 degrees to form it. This is what I did.

Powders like this are the basic building material of a type of metal 3D printing called "laser powder bed fusion" or (PBF-LB).
