@polly_bartlett Alan Bates was offered 1/6th of the compensation he thought he was owed originally. Latest offer is a 1/3rd. Meanwhile, on normal island, £49 million on a statue for a Queen that tried to dip into a poverty fund in 2010 to heat a palace.

@polly_bartlett The nation feels for them. I just can’t see why a buy out of the post office takes no time at all but pay out and payback to those who were brutally convicted takes forever.

@polly_bartlett A story, possibly apocryphal, describes a lady SubPM in a PO in the Home Counties, is so terrified of the Horizon terminal that she has set up a video camera to record every transaction entered on the terminal.
