We have the responsibility as Christians to live up to the sacrifice made for us. What would you do? How would you act going forward, knowing you killed your father with greed? You better make his sacrifice mean something. Or your name will live in infamy.

I understand where this parable is coming from to simplify the sacrifice of Christ to people, however I don’t feel at ease with it. For me it undermines core teachings of Jesus: laws don’t come before love grace mercy. e.g. “prodigal son” sermon of the mount sermon of the plain
