Biden’s malfunction at the presidential debate put an end to any reasonable argument that he was actually in charge. Gathered around a conference room, my team tried to find the answer. We knew it was inevitable that Biden would exit the stage. We were exploring several ways to accelerate that. One was our litigation threat that if the DNC waited too long to legally substitute another candidate that we would sue to prevent them from pulling a last minute switch. The DNC admitted in leaked memos that that very litigation threat impacted their thinking. The result was a fake and fast primary that crowned the weak Kamala Harris, wounded by her undemocratic ascension out of the gate. Another was intense litigation to obtain the audio of President Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Hur. We won that fight and the audio was released earlier this year, and to no one’s surprise, Biden malfunction in that interview was clear. You can see hundreds of photos of Torres del Paine before you go and still be surprised by how much of the park has nothing to do with the famous towers. There are turquoise lakes, glaciers, waterfalls, open grasslands and lenga forests. Guanacos graze near the road. Condors ride the wind above the mountains. Depending on the hour, the Paine Massif can fill the horizon or disappear almost completely behind clouds. The three granite towers are the image everyone knows, but they’re only one part of the place. Torres del Paine National Park sits in southern Chile, where the Andes meet the Patagonian steppe. The park covers more than 227,000 hectares and has been part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1978. Glaciers carved much of what you see today, and ice still runs through the story of the landscape. People were moving through this part of Patagonia long before hikers started arriving with trekking poles and backpacks. The Aónikenk, often called Tehuelche, traveled through the region for thousands of years. Ranching came much later, and large estancias eventually spread across land that now belongs to the park. Sheep, horses and ranch workers were here before refugios and marked trails. The national park was created in 1959 and expanded in the decades that followed. You can still see bits of the ranching past in old buildings, fences and horses along the road. Most trips begin in Puerto Natales. I’d stay there the night before heading into the park rather than treating it as somewhere to sleep between a flight and a bus. The town sits on the water with mountains in the distance, and it’s a good place to have dinner, buy anything you forgot and check your gear one last time. Patagonian lamb shows up on plenty of menus, along with seafood from southern Chile. The drive north is where the trip really starts. Buildings become less frequent. The road cuts through broad stretches of grassland. Guanacos begin appearing in the fields, sometimes close enough to the road that traffic slows down for them. Then, eventually, the mountains show up in the distance. That first view is worth paying attention to. Wildlife is easier to see here than I expected. Guanacos are common. Rheas move through the open country. Foxes live in the park, and condors can sometimes be spotted circling high above the valleys. Pumas are here too, though seeing one usually takes luck, patience or a guide who knows where to look. A lot of people come specifically for the W Trek. The route connects several of the park’s best-known areas, including Base Torres, French Valley and Grey Glacier, and most hikers take about four or five days to complete it. If you like multi-day hiking, it’s an obvious way to see a large part of the park without spending your days getting in and out of a vehicle. The Base Torres hike can also be done on its own. It flows down from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field into Grey Lake. Once you see it, the broad valleys and glacial lakes you’ve been passing start to make more sense. Ice shaped much of this place, and here you can still watch part of that story unfolding. There are hiking routes toward viewpoints of the glacier, and boat trips cross Grey Lake for a closer look. Depending on conditions, pieces of ice float in the water between the boat and the glacier. That part of the park feels different from the open country farther east. This is something I’d pay attention to throughout the trip. Torres del Paine changes surprisingly quickly as you move around it. The eastern side opens into Patagonian steppe. Forest becomes more common near the mountains. One lake can be deep blue, another turquoise, another gray beneath the clouds. Rivers run through valleys that seem almost empty. An hour in the car can take you through several versions of Patagonia. That’s why three full days would be my minimum even if you aren’t doing the W Trek. Four is better if the schedule allows. You could spend a day on the Base Torres hike, another around Grey Lake and the western side of the park, and another around Lake Pehoé, Salto Grande and shorter walks. The extra time gives you room to change plans when the weather turns. Where you stay makes a noticeable difference. Puerto Natales has more restaurants, hotels and services, and staying there can keep costs down. The downside is spending more time each day getting to and from the park. Staying inside or near Torres del Paine costs more, but you wake up much closer to the trails and viewpoints. If I could split the trip, I’d spend the first or last night in Puerto Natales and the rest closer to the park. Anyone hiking overnight should sort out refugios or campsites well in advance during the busy season. It’s also worth checking current trail conditions and park rules shortly before arriving, because Patagonia has a way of making plans made six months earlier feel provisional. For most first-time visitors, the warmer months are the easiest time to come. Late spring through early fall in the Southern Hemisphere brings longer daylight and better odds for hiking, although it also brings more people. “Summer” is still a relative term down here. Pack the rain jacket. By the end of a few days, the famous towers may not even be the thing you remember most clearly. It might be a line of guanacos moving across a hillside. You can see hundreds of photos of Torres del Paine before you go and still be surprised by how much of the park has nothing to do with the famous towers. There are turquoise lakes, glaciers, waterfalls, open grasslands and lenga forests. Guanacos graze near the road. Condors ride the wind above the mountains. People were moving through this part of Patagonia long before hikers started arriving with trekking poles and backpacks. The Aónikenk, often called Tehuelche, traveled through the region for thousands of years. Ranching came much later, and large estancias eventually spread across land that now belongs to the park. Sheep, horses and ranch workers were here before refugios and marked trails. The national park was created in 1959 and expanded in the decades that followed. You can still see bits of the ranching past in old buildings, fences and horses along the road. Most trips begin in Puerto Natales. I’d stay there the night before heading into the park rather than treating it as somewhere to sleep between a flight and a bus. The town sits on the water with mountains in the distance, and it’s a good place to have dinner, buy anything you forgot and check your gear one last time. Patagonian lamb shows up on plenty of menus, along with seafood from southern Chile. The drive north is where the trip really starts. Buildings become less frequent. The road cuts through broad stretches of grassland. Guanacos begin appearing in the fields, sometimes close enough to the road that traffic slows down for them. Then, eventually, the mountains show up in the distance. That first view is worth paying attention to. Wildlife is easier to see here than I expected. Guanacos are common. Rheas move through the open country. Foxes live in the park, and condors can sometimes be spotted circling high above the valleys. Pumas are here too, though seeing one usually takes luck, patience or a guide who knows where to look. A lot of people come specifically for the W Trek. The route connects several of the park’s best-known areas, including Base Torres, French Valley and Grey Glacier, and most hikers take about four or five days to complete it. After upgrading their midlane to Jojopyun, have just now won LEC and made MSI. 2/5 finals, 2/4 internationals and a 3-1 LEC split finals against Cap's G2. Seems to me that, after combining defamatory language with such an ill-informed professional blunder (I don't consider him a analyst but he does, so it is a professional blunder from his pretended pov), it would fall on Dominate to give a proper public explanation. Instead, he hides on his stream while accusing others of cowardice. Today, we all know it's a bit of a mixed bag, and winning matchups have evolved much beyond who gets to crash any given wave. We agreed that both of us were people that have a hard time letting go of our opinions and parted ways amicably. To me, what makes League a worthwhile pursuit is exploring the interesting ideas that can be built through it, not necessarily the drive to win. I left the team wanting to use content as a means to an end, as after that argument, I became obsessed with understanding the competitive jungle. It took me a year and a half, and you can call it luck, but I'm actually quite proud of the narratives I was able to push building around that knowledge. By MSI 2019, attended by at the time world champion "Ning" and mechanical prodigy "Clid", I pushed Jankos as the clear best jungler of the tournament. I understand the English speaking community has no way of knowing this, but I faced significant backlash for putting a western player above these two greats. His cover style of jungle allowed G2 to greedily succeed in getting the most of their flex-heavy drafts that often landed them on the winning side of matchups, and coasted them into a midgame where they found no match. G2 took that tournament and set a record for the quickest international finals. By the time EU legend Jankos arrived at worlds, many had them as the key player/mvp that made 2019 G2 work. Still, the fact remains that FPX brought the best jungle/river play system and ended up taking the tournament. Finally, after a clear-cut exceptional Canyon that dominated 2020 and pushed the limits of what jungle efficiency is (hard to argue against his inherent quality nor was I ever inclined to do so), I had Wei as my top jungler for 2021's MSI. This time, professional junglers (with whom I had an amicable relationship, this was not in bad faith) wrote to me privately, joking about how they were expecting for the tournament to end and Canyon to stomp Wei so they could laugh at me publically and quote-RT my tierlist. I was committing the sacrilege of putting some chinese guy above the best jungler to ever play the game, in the tournament following his peak performance. Sadly, their time never came. We had to sit for years and pretend he was enabling Elyoya to look good and not the other way around. Nisqy seems like a fun guy, I'm actually low-key a fan of his, but I don't build my takes on whose dick I can suck deep enough so that they might show up on my stream and give me credibility by association (unlike other people). I had 2023 T1 beating JDG when the narrative was JDG's royal road. How? Because since MSI 2022 I've been pushing every team to study T1's early vision system. I also made a very controversial video in 2022 that titles "The Second Korean Age", speaking about how T1's advancement in vision systems would push Korea ahead for years to come. It was pretty controversial back then, in 2022, when China had won 3/5 of the last world championships. Now Korea has won three years in a row, not so controversial anymore. Lucky again. However, my proudest work is not something that seems that impressive at first glance. It's called "Pyramids towards 13.19". It's a work that explores the evolution of season 13's World's metagame, drawing a paralellism between understanding a patch and the religions in the lost city of Teotihuacán, wherein they'd build towards the sky in order to get a bit closer to the gods without any possible end to that process. Just as a side note, I also have a video about how laning between turrets is sleeper op and Riot will have to nerf it eventually. T1 and some Chinese teams were toying with it last summer, but everyone focused on swaps instead (as they were easier to build and had a more solid body of working examples). It's a work that explores the evolution of season 13's World's metagame, drawing a paralellism between understanding a patch and the religions in the lost city of Teotihuacán, wherein they'd build towards the sky in order to get a bit closer to the gods without any possible end to that process. Just as a side note, I also have a video about how laning between turrets is sleeper op and Riot will have to nerf it eventually. T1 and some Chinese teams were toying with it last summer, but everyone focused on swaps instead (as they were easier to build and had a more solid body of working examples). We were reintroduced to the NBA on NBC. Can’t believe it’s been almost 25 years, but here we are again. They absolutely crushed it after having some early audio difficulties. They did just sign him to a three-year extension. You’d think they might wanna be careful with their investment. The average height of this Rockets' starting lineup is 6'10 (Thompson, Durant, Smith, Sengun, Adams), LMAO FIVE) Alpi Dominance Continues Maybe what Sengun was doing at EuroBasket 2025 (21.6 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 6.6 apg, 1.0 spg, and 1.1 bpg) translates over? Not gonna lie, I certainly had my doubts, but no… he’s looking just as dominant (I know, one game). Dude averaged 1.2 attempts per game last year. The hitch in his shot appears to be gone, so hey, this could be real (doubt it). All I know is that if it is, it’ll do wonders for his ceiling on sites that reward threes (DK). Also, going 10 of 11 from the line is something worth paying attention to. He was a 69.2% free-throw shooter last season. On the flip side, Amen Thompson (18 pts, 4 reb, 5 ast) had seven attempts from behind the arc and missed them all. Sucks, but his shot still looks flat. There’s no lift. While we’re here on Thompson, he had to leave the game late because of cramps. SIX) The Reed Conundrum I’ll give Reed Sheppard (9 pts, 4 ast, 37.9% TS, 28 min) this; he’s a confident motherfucker, and I love that about him (in a cute way). It’s hilarious how many times he looked off KD in this game. He’s gonna have stretches where he’s feeling it and looks automatic, but is it really gonna be worth it if his defense looks this dreadful? He can’t stay in front of anyone.
