At least he seems grateful. Like millions of other Gen Xers, I myself had to buy my first vehicle, but I have also given in to my own children and passed on older paid-off vehicles! You can tell when they truly appreciate it vs. when the child is faking it or is not really appreciative.

Those Nissan pathfinders were great little 4x4s, I beat the hell out of one for years, the ac switch broke and I was broke so I replaced it with a light switch🤣

I definitely would have bought my kid something safer.
