8 years and still counting… 🥹🤍 Last year, my favorite moment was definitely when Boun posted that video of them at the beach with their song playing (Soft Spot). Just watched this song “Nairobi” by Maurice Kirya off his latest album “This Is Happening”, and honestly it’s one of those where love lives in memories and distance only makes it louder, the way he turns such simple lines into something deeply personal feels like he’s telling your own story with that soft, steady acoustic guitar named Kadugala (blackie), a 2000$ guitar made by Duncan Africa (Uganda) made in Masaka. “Nairobi” is both warm & emotional and Maurice is simply giving his voice space to breathe and feel real, and that has been his magic always👌👌👌 …Maurice is one of the few Ug artists who doesn’t need noise to move you, and truth is our music can’t die when this guy is still giving us songs like this.
