Swans have one off the coolest landing technique ever.. 😊

Another idea from nature.

Swans really said ✈️➡️🛬💦… nature’s smoothest pilots!

That landing is just pure elegance… like they’re gliding on air and water at the same time. So smooth, so effortless it almost doesn’t feel real. Nature really knows how to put on a show.

@malleegirl57 The albatross could learn something 🤣

that’s not a landing that’s a full runway performance

Their feet! Acting as rudders then air brakes then finally into skies.

I love swan. In Norse mythology, swans are spiritual. It’s believed that the Valkyries, who lead fallen warrior’s souls to Valhalla, wear swan skins. These skins enable them to soar through the air, acting as a connection between the earthly realm and the divine.

Nature literally engineered the seaplane millions of years ago. Deploying webbed feet to maximize hydrodynamic drag while using wings as aerodynamic airbrakes

Ideas from nature.

Can someone add pilots audio comments to this video?

Cool technique for an animal that spends the rest of its day biting kids for bread.

@D41Carolyn Flaps 30, gear down, perfect flare and idle😂🤣

Just like the Concorde

I made this picture today

I'm going to give that landing a '10'!

Beautiful...geese aren't too shabby either on their landings.

"The man who saw the bird created the airplane."

💡🎯Pure engineering genius from nature! It looks so graceful, but it’s actually a masterclass in controlled deceleration. No wonder it feels oddly satisfying to watch. Nature never misses. 💕 They glide in low and slow with wings fully spread ...like airplane flaps for maximum lift and drag, then stretch those big webbed feet forward to act as natural brakes and skis. The feet skim the surface, creating drag while their broad body and tail hydroplane across the water .... gently bleeding off speed before they softly settle their chest down and fold the wings. These capture the exact moment: wings wide, feet forward/skidding, splash, and graceful settle.

Ducks? The complete opposite! They come in at a steep angle, and crashed into the pond! And watching them practicing to fly ? it’s a pleasure to witness. They just about take off vertically, just getting air ! It’s a lovely thing to witness, some from a few years ago

@Martina Their take-off, on the other hand …

@DePlorableNOC As a pilot, I can tell you this technique is known as flaps down in order to stall the flight just prior to the moment of touchdown. Typically, this is executed while flying into a head wind. Swans were doing this long before airplanes were invented.

You don't want to be in front of one of them, when they're taking off though...

🤍 Whooper swan, the national bird of Finland. 🇫🇮

Landed smoother than most sober pilots. Nailed the smoothest water landing ever.🥰 Humans need therapy and checklists.

Absolutely beautiful!! Reminds me of the shape of the Concorde plane

I ❤️ Swans. Photo is tanken from me.

Sure, but have you ever met one? They're jerks.

They took it over from KLM.

They basically hold the stall to the last second! It's total control of the flight surface using feathers to extend the wing surface

@KLMcGarrity Swans are a thing here.

@_ShivaniSD Perfect descent, superb wings & flap control, smooth touch down, no splashing or hard landing. No instrument or directions from the Traffic controller. Just no one around to appreciate & applaud for 100% perfect landing. 100% safe landing record.

I wonder if somebody saw that years ago and decided hey I think we could land planes on water!!!! If we make something to flatten out the wheel area!?? I have no idea about the history of landing on water. 😁😁😁

This is amazing. Dude literally has landing gear. Awesome video.

@farchie03 I love the swan 😍😍 love their feet!

Feet first. No apologies.
