In 1987 when widows were being burned alive at the funerals of their dead husbands, nobody spoke against it and a lot of politicians even praised the act in the name of tradition and Indian values. Now when it’s reflected upon, everyone agrees that it was horrible act that should have been spoken against. I feel what swara baskar spoke against is no different. “Suicide in defiance” is still suicide and should not be encouraged. What happened in the past was a horrible situation but laws and other means should be used to protect a woman and her honour rather than her having to burn herself alive to preserve it or avoid an abuser.

Imagine moving to a country, living off its infrastructure, its schools, its healthcare, and then losing your mind in the middle of London streets celebrating a goal against the country that took you in. Zero loyalty, zero respect, zero assimilation. This is what open borders gets you. People who physically live in England but mentally never left home. The flag waving, the screaming in traffic, blocking roads, treating the host country like a hotel they don't have to tip at. And if any English person dared to complain they'd be branded a racist by the same politicians who live in gated postcodes and never have to see any of it. A French woman whose husband has admitted drugging her and inviting more than 80 men to rape her over the course of a decade has said she “was sacrificed on the altar of vice” and treated “like a rag doll”. Over the last year we have seen a flurry of migrant sex attacks on British women and girls. In multiple of these cases, they use their culture of their home country as a defence. We now are begging to learn of the scale of the Pakistani rape gangs that have terrorised thousands of British girls. Some may say we have actively imported a rape culture to Britain. This phrase, “rape culture” became widely used during lockdown on social media and amongst young women off the back of a feminist campaign to raise awareness of sexual harassment and assault within schools. National media covered the crisis that had been revealed. The government launched an immediate inquiry into school safeguarding, the NSPCC launched a helpline called Report Abuse in Education, and the Met Police launched investigations into allegations. It was effectively treated as a national emergency. It was defined to mean anything that normalised or trivialised sexual violence. This could be anything from serious sexual offences such as upskirting, to general misogyny and jokes about sexual assault. The message was that if any of these behaviours were normalised, they could act as a gateway to more extreme acts such as sexual assault and rape. The term was being used so broadly that it led myself and I think many young women in my generation to believe that if a male peer was to make so much as a joke at the expense of women, that without intervention, he could literally go on to be a rapist. Strangely, the same feminists who began and continue with this campaign to end what they call rape culture within schools, seem oddly absent from the actual rape culture that we are importing to the UK. We also know that young women are the main demographic that are in support of open borders. Where is the national emergency about sexual violence from foreign men who come from countries that could far more accurately be described as rape cultures? Man stabs people in NYC while shouting Allahu Akbar. Motive unknown. What could have possibly caused this?!?!? More than half (about 55%) of NYC’s confirmed hate crimes in 2026 so far have targeted Jews despite being 10% of the population. I don't want to live amongst people who hate the Jews. I don't want to live in a country where you can't be openly Jewish. That's the reality of Muslim majority countries. There is nothing kind about tolerating a culture that does not tolerate in return.
