I feel what swara baskar spoke against is no different. “Suicide in defiance” is still suicide and should not be encouraged. What happened in the past was a horrible situation but laws and other means should be used to protect a woman and her honour rather than her having to burn herself alive to preserve it or avoid an abuser.
