Might not help but make sure the switch 2 is set as your primary device, I had problems of DLC not showing on my switch while offline.

Follow the prompts through on the Switch 2. Just make sure the Switch 1 is connected to the internet and it should just move the virtual game card

It just goes back & forth whether I start it on Switch 1 or Switch 2 It won’t load the upgrade

Even when loaded on Switch 2, it launches the base version you’re saying?

Alright, my sources are saying manually download the upgrade pack from the shop on switch 2.

Try making the Switch 2 primary system via eshop? If not that’s literally all I got. Nintendo gonna Nintendo

I'm old enough to remember just popping in a cartridge and was up and running within seconds. Now you gotta jump through hoops, settings, updates, sign-up accounts, permission check offs, emails, update to the console, update to the game, update to the controller. Just nonsense.

If you have the cartridge I don't think you would even need to use the virtual game card

I had the same issue. You need to go on the Nintendo website and link the main console to your Nintendo account. Once that is done your main console will be able to play the game.

But a ps5

Did you figure it out. I was able to replicate the issue with a different game. Go to -> touch your profile picture-> touch virtual cards -> touch load on system. Select your switch 2.
