I think I saw more beautiful things up close there, and in Switzerland, I saw more beautiful things from far away. 🐥If I were to travel next, I’d want to go to Malta again because it was so much fun, and I think we enjoyed it even more than the people watching I’d be happy if you could watch it feeling like you’re traveling with us.”

I met with President of the National Council of Switzerland @MajaRiniker. I am grateful that this visit includes not only Kyiv but also other regions of our country. This is truly important. We discussed the global situation, cooperation with partners, and Switzerland’s support and assistance. I am thankful for the decision to allocate 5 billion francs for the recovery of our country. We have many promising humanitarian projects that we can implement together with the help of these funds. We also touched upon the issue of abducted children. We hope that Switzerland will join our efforts with partners in a practical way to help bring all the children back home – to Ukraine. Thank you for a good conversation. And thank you to Switzerland for its peacebuilding efforts and its steadfast and consistent support for our people. We deeply appreciate it.

Weingarten: It’s really only the Congress that can abolish the Department of Education. So, what the president can do is make government basically ineffective—not work—by a thousand cuts. And that’s what they’re doing. So, if you essentially fire the entire staff, or 80% of the staff, of Social Security, and somebody needs to get a Social Security card, they’re not going to be able to get it in a timely way. If you fire everybody who’s doing hurricane watch, you’re not going to have hurricane watch… The same is true in terms of education. If you fire everybody, or you make it unfeasible for it to work, then none of the laws that are supposed to be effectuated by the department will work. So, if Title I is supposed to go to a high school in Staten Island, and they’re supposed to get $5 million that goes there, and all of a sudden it doesn’t, and they don’t have the money, then that means the programs go away. That means the reading programs, the computer programs, the after-school programs—all the programs that are funded by Title I, and every schoolteacher in America understands what that means—they go away. The same goes for the programs for kids with disabilities under IDEA. If a school system, or a school—because these things go directly to schools—if the funding goes away, a kid doesn’t get physical therapy or occupational therapy

🇱🇧Tamin Public Hospital in Lebanon got damaged in the war, but it’s still open and treating hundreds of patients, including a lot of kids from all over the country. The area around Marja, just a few kilometers from the border, is in bad shape with heavy destruction and you can still hear shelling nearby. The whole region is basically cut off from the rest of the country. UNICEF is rushing in medical supplies, water and hygiene kits, and baby essentials for the thousands of children stuck there. Switzerland has become a global destination for assisted suicide tourism, which is mainly aided by their laws that do not require the patient to be of Swiss residency for the procedure and as long as you perform the final act yourself. The video below is filmed at Pegasos Swiss Association Clinic, one of the few voluntary assisted death clinics in Switzerland. In the video, you can see they have set up the IV for the patient, but she has to physically unlock the IV tube to allow the medication to start flowing. With the procedure costing roughly 12,000$ (1.6Million KSH) , many refer to it as ‘dying with dignity’, with Approximately 500 foreigners traveling to Switzerland annually to end their lives, with this number projected to double by 2035. However this has received criticism not only from pro life organisations but some families of the victims as some of these clinic facilities do not inform your family without your consent until the procedure is done , meaning if you can afford it and you are over 18 and of sane mind you can undergo the process even though the institution insists you make a relative or close friend aware it is not a must.

Amongst the bit of doom, we have a lot of positivity. Official state visits to Switzerland are very rarely given to heads of state. It hardly ever happens. But this week, President Cyril Ramaphosa was given this rare honour by Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter. Certain areas came to a complete standstill to get a glimpse of President Ramaphosa. This is the stature of the man. You may not now, but BILLIONS in investments are pouring into South Africa from the EU, Nordic countries, Switzerland etc. You can say whatever you want about Ramaphosa, he has fixed the Zuma mess, the GNU led by Ramaphosa has secured BILLIONS in investments. Even Canada is buying our products like never before. They can make up stories about President Ramaphosa but the actual numbers don’t lie. Sidenote: To show solidarity and send a message of hope to South Africa during the COVID-19 crisis.the SA flag was projected onto the Matterhorn mountain in Zermatt Switzerland.
