Hi Bernie, i think you would find the amusing, My young family had to move to find work. We settled on Orlando Florida. I was 1980. We caught you on some Hurricane broadcasts., especially the bowl game you were in that year. We were thrilled when you joined the supplemental draft the next spring so you could join the Browns. I wanted to create an interest in the Browns with my 4 children, all under 10 at the time. They missed Cleveland, friends and all, eh. You were a good bridge for that. it worked out very good. We started to sing happy birthday to you around a happy birthday Bernie cake. I even let them take off school on your birthday. That was not too hard because it feel on a weekend the 1st year. They were disappointed, but keeping in the Browns spirit - wait 'till next year. I did not actually think they would remember but they did. the next year we had a cake, sang happy birthday Bernie. The were disappointed again when the birthday again feel on a weekend so no call out from school. They remined me again the next year. We celebrated, cake and all. And that year i called the school and had them excused from class. Three of them anyway. The youngest did not start yet. I hope you take this the way i intended. the bridge of the browns to then family really worked well. helped relieve t least some of the missing Cleveland blues. We have been home to see some games. My son became president of the local bakers club. We cannot say Belichick name with out saying it like, cannot think of the appropriate words. I followed you at Dallas and was impressed with your helping win the play-in game to the supper bowl. You truly earned your ring. Resuming now on the birthday celebration. It fell away after a bit. But it remains one of my favored stories. Thanks for making our transition to Floridians but we will be Clevelanders, and Browns fan at heart. We will always have 64.
