🚨🇸🇾🇺🇸🇷🇺 Syria is reportedly preparing to reduce its dependence on Russian oil as it seeks closer ties with the United States. The move could mark a significant geopolitical shift in Damascus' energy strategy after years of relying heavily on Moscow. According to Reuters, Syrian officials have informed the United States that they are prepared to significantly reduce imports of Russian crude oil as part of ongoing discussions surrounding the possible removal of Syria from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism. Sources familiar with the talks say Washington has not made cutting Russian oil imports a formal condition for delisting. However, Syrian officials indicated that if the remaining U.S. sanctions are lifted, Damascus intends to diversify its energy supplies and reduce its reliance on Russian imports. Russia currently supplies around 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day to Syria. At the same time, Damascus has already signed energy agreements with ConocoPhillips and Novaterra, while also holding talks with TotalEnergies over offshore energy exploration. If implemented, the shift would represent one of the most significant changes in Syria's energy policy in years, potentially reducing Russia's economic influence in the country while opening the door to greater Western investment in Syria's energy sector. Twelve years ago, I was a refugee fleeing oppression in Syria. Germany opened its doors and hearts to me, welcoming me and thousands of Syrians with warmth and dignity. Today, I stand again on Syrian soil, no longer as a refugee, but as the Director General of the Syrian Development Fund صندوق التنمية السوري - Syrian Development Fund working to rebuild my homeland and restore hope to our people. It was a deeply moving moment to welcome the German Foreign Minister Mr. Johann Wadephul Johann Wadephul and Ambassador Mr. Clemens Hach Clemens Hach at the heart of a model housing project for returning displaced families, a symbol of the journey from exile to renewal. Syria opens its doors to all friends from Germany and the world, to join us in building a new, hopeful Syria. #NewSyria 🇸🇾🤝🇩🇪 #SyrianDevelopmentFund #Reconstruction #Hope

‼️🇺🇸🇸🇾 The White House just fired the starting gun on a massive geopolitical reset: President Trump has officially notified Congress of his intent to remove Syria from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list. After a whirlwind meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the Ankara NATO summit, the U.S. is signaling that it’s time to move past the ghosts of the Assad era. By clearing the path for investment and reconstruction, the U.S. is betting that a stable, post-civil war Syria is a better strategic asset than a crippled, isolated one. This isn't just a bureaucratic tweak—it’s a seismic shift in American foreign policy. By "de-listing" Syria, Washington is effectively placing its seal of approval on the new status quo in Damascus and daring the international community to follow suit. The strategy is clear: trade sanctions for influence.

A Kurdish woman’s message to Donald J. Trump Once again, the U.S. president has made a deal with Erdoğan and betrayed the Kurds in Syria. This shameful deal was brokered by the U.S. ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack. Meanwhile, the so-called Syrian regime, with the help of Turkey, is attacking and bombing the Kurds in Syria. At the same time, the U.S. ambassador in Turkeywho is also the U.S. special envoy for Syria is telling the U.S.-backed SDF in Syria not to respond to the Syrian regime’s attacks and to allow Turkey and Jolani to remove the Kurds from Aleppo.
