According to Syrian army sources, these tunnels were dug by Hezbollah and used to smuggle weapons, Captagon narcotics, and personnel. The tunnels come amid increased Hezbollah infiltration attempts and attacks on Syrian positions since the Israel-Lebanon war began. Even as Hezbollah fights Israel, it’s still busy running smuggling tunnels into Syria. The Syrian army is now reinforcing the border to crack down on it.
