3 months ago when IAMMUSIC released Akademiks revealed that he heard a Drake x Playboi Carti song that sampled Luther Vandross and that was originally going to be on FATD but was given to Carti for IAMMUSIC, it was then blocked by Kendrick who was executive producing the album. Kendrick heard Drake and Carti Luther vandross song from Carti, and linked with SZA to make “Luther”.
