When MLS receives the ball, he does it with the intention of progressing play vertically between the lines. His first instinct is always to look for receivers higher up in pockets. His high technical level also makes him extremely press-resistant, he can beat pressure with just a simple shoulder drop. Zubimendi is the opposite of this.

Don't underestimate the role Trossard plays in unlocking Eze left half-space tendencies. Trossard goes deep a lot to handle deep duties, so Eze can stay high. And with Hincapié overlapping for width and Trossard vacating the left half-space, that becomes Eze's area to occupy. Trossard deep in left/central midfield, Eze high in the left half-space to attack. That's how you get the goal vs Leverkusen.

First time through ball with Vitinha and it’s an easy 1v1 with the GK. This also work really well when you trigger a central player like a ST or CAM to make a diagonal run into space out wide.
