Tactical voting is the inevitable consequence of our broken voting system. It hurts all parties, nobody wants it, and without First Past the Post there’d be no need for it. Thanks to Daisy Cooper MP 🔶 for drawing attention to the systemic issue at the heart of tactical voting: FPTP.

@getprdone @libdemdaisy LibDems thanked Labour voters in Frome. Labour would have taken Uxbridge if they had done a deal with LibDems. Time to end the two party dictatorship.

@Lifelandlady @libdemdaisy Rubbish. I don't want anyone in Parliament who cannot command a majority of votes in their local community. We don't do direct democracy (tfft , qv Brexit). FPTP & PR are just different forms of representation. I strongly prefer FPTP as it puts the 'representative' bit first.

@libdemdaisy Trouble is that as much as they might say otherwise, there's lots of those high up in both Con &Lab who are happy with tactical voting when they benefit from it, & also the vote-splitting which so often occurs with FPTP. It's why Tories have ditched SV for Mayors & PCC votes
