I agree with this for the most part tho I’d say the Mario movie and Sonic movie aren’t really that far from eachother in terms of story. They’re both very simple, Mario is more simple but the Sonic movie is like just barely better.

I personally think the Sonic movies story telling is substantially better then Mario’s but hey whatever floats your boat I guess.

Here's a rewrite of this movie that at least has a simple yet effective story, but yeah. Agreed.
