I asked Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison four questions today at his end-of-season press conference: Me: “You said me and Coach Kidd are aligned, you know the player(s) that he likes. But when it comes to a trade of this magnitude, it’s the main player that led y’all to the finals last season, so I wanted to ask you, what did that conversation look like at the 11th hour when you told him that y’all would be trading Luka Doncic, and do you think it was fair to him to have y’all’s entire team to be built around Luka, and then in the middle of the season him having to pivot to a completely different player to try to make the title run again?” Harrison: “I think there’s some difficulties anytime when you do a trade that big during the middle of the season. We saw it when we traded for Kyrie a couple years ago. Sometimes trades take a little longer to really see how good a trade it was. But I also know his connectivity to Anthony Davis. He won a championship with him with the Lakers. I know his admiration for him as a defensive player, and so I wasn’t worried about that.” Me: “What did y’all’s conversation look like when you let him know?” Harrison: “It was really brief. I just told him the reasoning behind it and let him know, and he understood and he got geared up to start white boarding to get ready to see how we would play with Anthony Davis.” Me: “Do you feel like he agreed with those reasons?” Harrison: “I don’t think it’s about agreeing, but he aligns with how I think in terms of defense wins championships. That’s how he feels. He also aligns with the philosophy of versatile style of play. And so it really wasn’t about agreeing or disagreeing, it was about ‘I see the vision, let’s go.’” Me: “Defense is one thing that’s been talked about so many times when you’re referring to this trade. With you trading Luka, in a way you’re betting on Anthony Davis to help you guys but it’s also you thinking AD would help more than Doncic did. Outside of defense, why are you betting against Luka Doncic not being able to bring y’all a title when he was here?” Harrison: “It’s more about AD…I’m not going to bet against Luka or speak negatively towards him. He’s not here anymore. But it’s the belief that I have in the guys that are in this locker room.”

Draymond Green calls out the media for having a double standard with Nico Harrison for trading Luka because he didn’t believe in some of his habits 👀 “So many people crushed Nico for the reasons that he gave. When Nico gave those reasons everybody said he’s ridiculous, he’s crazy. Now when I turn on the tv all I see is media who crushed Nico which essentially aided in him getting fired, regurgitating the same things that Nico Harrison was saying. I haven’t seen one person come out and say ‘hey Nico, I’m sorry for the things I said about you when you made those moves because I just said the same things out of my mouth.’ This has nothing to do with Luka and everything to do with the media and Nico Harrison. Nico gave his reasoning as why he thought that was the right move. Everybody said ‘you’re a f*cking idiot” (Via The Draymond Green Show)

Luka Doncic loves to set up a center with a lob on pick-and-rolls constantly. For the Lakers, Walker Kessler is about to get the best looks of his career consistently around the rim thanks to Doncic.

"I think that in this particular instance Draymond Green is being incredibly unfair. ... If Luka Doncic had been put on the open market by Nico Harrison, can we even sit here and imagine the assets that would have been offered for him?" Stephen A Smith reacts to Draymond's comments about Nico Harrison and the media 🏀

Stephen A Smith full response to Draymond saying the media needs to apologize to Nico Harrison for trading Luka 👀 “He’s very wrong. I think Draymond is being incredibly unfair…. The reality of the situation is Draymond is saying that because he’s fond of Nico Harrison…. You got Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a pick to show for Luka Doncic? That was the crime!…. We talk about this one deal. Which was egregious and forever stain him. So much so, it is highly unlikely he will ever get a job as a basketball executive in the NBA again” (Via Bryan D. Irwin)

“I know Luka, so I know what's true or not. If you get to know him, and you guys will, you'll see how great of a person he is and how serious he takes his job and everything he does... He's a very good person, he's a very hard worker, he's a very great teammate... I have nothing but positive things to say about him.” Maxi Kleber on the negative reports about Luka Doncic over the last few days. (via Tomer Azarly)

beomgyu explaining why he hasn’t been updating his bamsta much lately 🥹 he said it’s because feels like he doesn’t have anyone to take good pictures of him, and that he “doesn’t even go around looking that pretty” (side note: beomgyu, you are never not pretty 😤) + he worries about posting in the same places too often that’s why he feels like instagram is a bit hard for him but soobin was so sweet and reassuring, telling him “moas don’t care about the background, they only care about you being in it.” and then he even offered to take photos for him ☹️❤️‍🩹 moas when gyu finally posts again, let’s make sure to shower beomgyu with compliments and remind him how beautiful and handsome he is, and how much we appreciate the effort he puts into making us happy 🥺🤍

Luka Dončić Slovenian national team teammate Edo Murić: "Luka looks better and better when I see him every year now. He is now at that age where he is at a peak of his powers. He's not a kid anymore, now he's a man and he really looks good. I had a chance to feel that on my own skin. Everytime I see him with a ball he's better and better. So I can't wait for the next season to see him in even bigger role with Lakers. I just hope he stays healthy whole season. Because really, this could be his best season yet and I'm really looking forward to that." 📹: Martin Pavcnik

Draymond Green was on Jimmy Kimmel and had a lot to say when asked about the Luka Doncic trade: “I couldn’t believe it, superstars at 25 don’t get traded. He is a megastar” Nico Harrison will never live this down. The league is STILL laughing at him.

Do you agree with this type of discipline? He’s his stepdad. I think he did exactly what he was supposed to do. He took him outside away from the mom and other kids and he didn’t touch him. He let him vent. He listened to him. Then, he made him do his workout and then explained why he was in the wrong. Just because he seasoned his words while explaining doesn’t mean shit. Sometimes step parents stepping up is all a kids needs. I applaud this step father for caring about the mother and her kids enough to take the time to show this boy guidance and discipline and that he cares for him. Good job! 👏🏼

Kyrie talking about Luka and why he calls him “hermano”: “That’s my brother […] that’s genuine love there, man […] I consider him part of my family, part of my tribe.” This is an amazing answer, I love him so much for this. I hope the media and his fans listen to his message.
