By 3D printing molds in Formlabs Clear Resin on the Form 4, engineers can ensure silicone fills every tiny detail without any trapped air bubbles. The cast silicone part is a protective mask for automotive shock tubes, used to shield critical areas during the coating process. By using a 3D printed mold, they can cast and test prototypes in the real world before spending thousands to machine permanent factory tools.
