Taken some time to compose myself, but I'll always remember this era with fondness. An amazing man who has given #SaintsFC memories for life. It's sad it hasn't worked out this season, but I'll always be eternally grateful for last season and how he rebuilt the club. Thank you... show more

Agree, Russ had the X-factor and did something incredible last season. His exit is his own fault for not adapting or changing but he’ll learn and do really well wherever he goes next. It’s 1 month too late but a new style of football is needed.

Keep an eye on the season. 👀 Introducing our latest feature: the standings. Now you can see live on your server which team is how in the league compared to other teams.

Just goes to show how quickly things can change in football

Thanks for the memories, unfortunately didn’t work out in the end can only wish him well for the future..

Makes me sad man, really wanted it to work

I dunno. Did he rebuild the club? He came in, just about got us up, and was probably taking us back down. He's a nice bloke, but he just did a reasonable job. That's it.

Great bloke, great memories, and one of the most enjoyable seasons I’ve watched for a long while, he gave us that and will always be welcome at St Mary’s

Unbelievable bloke such a good guy

He was such a nice guy and from a as they say problems on and off the pitch and got Southampton premier league football the year after they were relegated. Some fans have to realise how lucky we were to have Russell Martin

I love Martin. I think he’s a great championship coach, but he’s gotta learn that adjustments are necessary to survive in the premier league. Wish him well wherever he ends up next.

Aww this is lush! I think people forget behind the scenes he was dealing with a marriage breakdown also. He kept it together and achieved the promotion. Amazing
