Did the blimp later land upside down?

I flew in the Goodyear blimp from it’s Miami base in Biscayne Bay, early 70’s. “Flew” doesn’t express it though, more like “floated.”

I was lucky enough to take a flight on the Goodyear blimp in Carson, CA a few years back. What an awesome ride!

I flew on the Goodyear blimp in 1985 or 86, like nothing else in the world, no sensation of flight, incredibly smooth.

I have been lucky enough to have flown on the Goodyear Blimp twice. The cabin was much smaller back then, but what an awesome experience. 💙

The blimp moored at the Cdn Aviation Museum in Ottawa. Bicycled with bunch of kids to watch. Most impressive was the “high speed” pass over the runway and rapid climb. Watching in essence a building perform this was amazing!

The Goodyear Blimp program began in 1925 with the first flight of the Pilgrim on June 3, marking its 101st year as of 2026. Pilgrim, the original helium-filled non-rigid airship, flew for promotional purposes and logged nearly 95,000 miles before retirement in 1931. The specific blimp in the post, Wingfoot 2 (N2A, aka Cybil), is a modern semi-rigid Zeppelin NT model christened in 2016, making it roughly 10 years old.
