An ocean sunish, or mola mola, was rescued Monday from Nantucket Harbor, transported out to Great Point on the eastern side of the island and released into the surf. It’s common for mola mola to enter the harbor this time of year as they travel south, but the sunfish can get trapped, unable to find their way out and end up dying as temperatures fall. Luckily for this one, it was spotted by the Nantucket Wildlife rescue team who contacted scalloper Carl Bois, who happened to be fishing in the area where the mola mola was swimming off Pocomo today. Bois was able to guide the fish toward shore so it could be transported. Below is Rain Harbison’s account of what happened: “This morning we received a report of a Mola Mola deep in the harbor east of Pocomo Point. Fortuitously, we had a friend nearby scalloping. Many thanks to Captain Carl Bois of Topspin Fishing Charters for taking time away from fishing and herding the Mola towards land so we could get it into the truck and into the open ocean. It was a harrowing rescue throughout. Having no way to irrigate its gills with seawater we had less than 15 minutes to get it to the ocean, but we managed to get it back into the water before it suffocated. “On our way to the release point we spotted another Mola in the waters at Wauwinet. We went back to check on that one only to discover there were actually at least two. We are monitoring those and are asking for help to keep an eye on them. Its too late to herd them in today, so the possibility of rescue will have to wait until tomorrow. We appreciate any updates on their whereabouts, as we’ve had several other rescues today that called us away from them. Many thanks to Susan Rohrer, Burton Balkind, and the rest of the NAR rescue team!!!”

WAVERLEY COMPLETES HER FIRST SEASONAL CIRCUMNAVIGATION OF GREAT BRITAIN IN OVER 40 YEARS! 🎉🏆🚢 Waverley has just crossed the finishing line as she proudly steams up the Firth of Clyde this evening, marking the completion of her clockwise tour round Great Britain. Just over 7 weeks ago Waverley's epic repositioning voyage from Ayr to the South West began, much to the surprise of all those who closely monitor her adventures away from the Firth of Clyde. This evening she has passed abeam of Ayr on the final leg of her journey from London to Glasgow. Waverley first circumnavigated Great Britain in 1981, just 6 years into her preservation career, and did so for three seasons in the 1980s. Since then, trips round the north and along the east coast have been rare. The decision to sail over 1,200 nautical miles from Ayr to Dartmouth via the east coast back in August this year was taken due to swell conditions off Land's End which did not show signs of abating. The choice was either to be storm bound and be certain of missing many sailings or take her full circle and achieve some success in the South West and the opening week of the South Coast programme. Since late August Waverley has sailed the South Coast and Thames Estuary offering thousands of passengers the opportunity to step aboard. Following the final sailing on the Thames on Sunday 12th October Waverley set her course for home. In the early hours of Monday morning she departed Gravesend and steamed round the South East of England. After refuelling at Weymouth she rounded Land's End and continued her journey north. Given the good weather conditions and calm seas, she didn't rush but instead has paddled home at a leisurely and more fuel efficient speed - a sharp contrast to the journey south which saw over 35,000 litres of extra fuel required. The video in this post shows Waverley's final transit under Tower Bridge at the start of the 800 nautical mile journey from London to Glasgow. Now, as Waverley returns to the Clyde we’re celebrating another truly remarkable season. It’s been one filled with unforgettable cruises, special moments, and the pure joy of seeing our national treasure welcomed in every port and pier she has visited. There was a massive John O'Keefe and Karen Read re-trial bombshell that went under the surface last week. Not only were 17 Ring videos deleted from John's system between 12:37am and 5:08am on 1/29/22, another video of Karen and her family collecting the murder weapon after 12pm ET that day was also deleted. This means someone (probably Karen) accessed John's Ring system --access that John's niece and nephew have testified Karen possessed-- sometime in the afternoon of 1/29/22 (before search warrants were served on Karen's phone and her car, after 4pm that day, when the vehicle was located by State Police at the home of Karen's parents in Dighton). Indeed, Karen would only need knowledge of John's Ring login information --something Karen had, as evidenced by the document below-- in order to access the system remotely from any device. The fact that there was a video deleted after 12pm on 1/29/22, and that the video in question directly captured Karen and her family leaving John's home with the murder weapon, indicates at least some of the deletions in questions did not occur until Karen was released from the hospital. Karen's access to John's rings system, and the timeline of the deleted videos, thus raises the potential that Karen also deleted 17 of the 18 Ring videos from earlier that morning --between 12:37am and 5:08am, as mentioned-- while at her parents house in Dighton. In turn, this would mean Karen left specific Ring videos on the system, including a staged "bump" into John's car at at 5:08am, in anticipation of being criminally charged. Read a prior public court motion regarding Karen's access to John's ring system here - If these deletions are confirmed, Karen's prior statement during a news interview becomes an ominous double entendre. "I mean, what kind of criminal mastermind am I? Not a very good one," said Read with a smirk to the camera. Perhaps in a prescient manner, when that clip first aired in March of 2025, this is what I reported (at the time, I did not fully realize the implications of Karen also deleting another damning Ring video from after 12pm on 1/29/22); "Karen Read, as I predicted many months ago, left a single Ring video on John O'Keefe's system , from roughly 5:08am, wherein Karen may have staged a fake "bump" into John O'Keefe's car to, in real time, plant reasonable double as to the cause of Read's broken taillight." There was a massive John O'Keefe and Karen Read re-trial bombshell that went under the surface last week. Not only were 17 Ring videos deleted from John's system between 12:37am and 5:08am on 1/29/22, another video of Karen and her family collecting the murder weapon after 12pm ET that day was also deleted. This means someone (probably Karen) accessed John's Ring system --access that John's niece and nephew have testified Karen possessed-- sometime in the afternoon of 1/29/22 (before search warrants were served on Karen's phone and her car, after 4pm that day, when the vehicle was located by State Police at the home of Karen's parents in Dighton). Indeed, Karen would only need knowledge of John's Ring login information --something Karen had, as evidenced by the document below-- in order to access the system remotely from any device. The fact that there was a video deleted after 12pm on 1/29/22, and that the video in question directly captured Karen and her family leaving John's home with the murder weapon, indicates at least some of the deletions in questions did not occur until Karen was released from the hospital. Karen's access to John's rings system, and the timeline of the deleted videos, thus raises the potential that Karen also deleted 17 of the 18 Ring videos from earlier that morning --between 12:37am and 5:08am, as mentioned-- while at her parents house in Dighton. They decided to spend the winter together: Lidia Alekseevna had a stove, and she invited her neighbor, Sasha, to her house, where her children used to live. They stayed together until drones attacked their house. "Fifteen Ukrainian drones attacked our house and burned it to the ground. We miraculously survived, hiding in the basement," the woman recounts. After that, they spent two months underground, not leaving. She describes the situation around them as if it were a normal day: the city was burning. Her neighbor, who ran to put out the fire at his house, was torn apart by a drone. Three women were standing under a tree – they all died. They were forced to leave the basement because "we ate the last of the beans. And we went on foot." One of the locals suggested a route: "Ukrainian drones don't fly there, Russian drones do – go freely, don't be afraid." And indeed, Russian drones were flying overhead, about eight of them, and none of them attacked them. But as they approached the village, two Ukrainian drones caught up with them – the first almost caught Sasha, and the second appeared about fifteen minutes later. This is real footage of Zeros taking off from the deck of the Akagi. For half a year, this single ship was the most successful aircraft carrier on Earth. Its planes struck Pearl Harbor, Darwin, and Ceylon, and it never lost. Then, in a few minutes, she was doomed. This is the story of the Akagi.. ⠀ From Battlecruiser to Flagship The Akagi, named after Mount Akagi in Japan, was not even meant to be a carrier. She was laid down as a massive battlecruiser, but a naval treaty in the 1920s halted her construction. Rather than scrap the enormous hull, Japan rebuilt her into an aircraft carrier, one of the largest in the world. By 1941 she had become the flagship of the Kido Butai, the First Air Fleet. This was the most powerful concentration of naval air power on the planet, six aircraft carriers operating together as a single striking fist, something no other navy had ever done. From her deck, Admiral Chuichi Nagumo commanded the whole force. When Japan decided to open the war with a knockout blow against the United States, it was the Akagi that led the way. The Carrier That Led Japan's Offensive On the morning of December 7 1941, the Akagi sat in the dark waters north of Hawaii, and launched her aircraft toward Pearl Harbor. Her torpedo bombers helped tear apart the American battleship fleet as it lay at anchor. The man who led the entire air attack, Mitsuo Fuchida, flew from her deck. The Akagi was, quite literally, the ship from which America's war began. And she was just getting started. Over the next several months, the Akagi and her sister carriers went on a rampage across a third of the globe. In January they struck Rabaul. In February they fell upon the Australian city of Darwin, launching a devastating surprise raid that sank eight ships and became known as Australia's Pearl Harbor. ⠀ Across the Indian Ocean Then they turned west, into the Indian Ocean. In the spring of 1942 the Kido Butai swept toward Ceylon, hunting the British Eastern Fleet. Akagi's aircraft helped sink British warships, including the heavy cruisers Cornwall and Dorsetshire, and sent the Royal Navy reeling out of the eastern Indian Ocean entirely. In just half a year, the aircraft launched from that deck had struck Hawaii, the Dutch East Indies, Australia, and Ceylon. They had helped sink American, British, and Australian ships across thousands of miles of ocean. The Akagi had not lost a single battle. She was the most successful and most feared aircraft carrier in the world, the flagship of a force that seemed unstoppable. It would all end on one morning in June. The Battle of Midway In June 1942, the Akagi led the Kido Butai toward a tiny American outpost called Midway. The plan was to seize the island and destroy what was left of the American carrier fleet. But the Americans had broken the Japanese codes. They knew the Akagi and her sisters were coming, and they were waiting. On the morning of June 4, the battle turned into chaos. The Japanese carriers had just fought off waves of American attacks, and below the flight deck the Akagi's hangars were packed with aircraft being frantically rearmed and refueled, fuel lines and bombs lying everywhere. It was the most dangerous possible moment to be caught. And at that exact moment, American dive bombers rolled in out of the sky, unseen until it was too late. ⠀ One Bomb A lookout screamed a warning. Then the bombs fell. The Akagi was struck by a single bomb from an American dive bomber, dropped by Lieutenant Richard Best, while near misses battered her hull and jammed her rudder. Just one direct hit. But it struck in the worst possible place, punching down into the hangar deck packed with armed, fueled aircraft. The explosion set off a chain reaction. Fires roared through the ship, feeding on the fuel and detonating the bombs stacked among the planes. Within minutes the pride of the Japanese fleet was doomed, a spreading inferno no one could control. The flagship that had conquered half an ocean was mortally wounded by one well-aimed bomb. Admiral Nagumo was forced to abandon his burning flagship and transfer his command to another ship. The Akagi was left blazing, unnavigable, circling helplessly. The End of the Akagi The Akagi burned all day and into the night. Unable to save her, and unwilling to let her fall into American hands, the Japanese ordered her own destroyers to sink her. In the early hours of June 5 1942, torpedoes from her escorts sent her to the bottom. She went down bow first. 267 of her crew died with her. She did not go alone. All four Japanese carriers at Midway, every one of them a veteran of Pearl Harbor, were sunk in the same battle, taking with them their irreplaceable aircraft and elite crews. It was the turning point of the entire Pacific war. Japan would never recover the initiative. For over 75 years, the Akagi lay lost in the dark. Then in 2019 her wreck was finally found, more than 17,000 feet down, and in 2023 a robot submarine descended to look upon her for the first time since she sank. The most successful carrier in the world, resting in the deep, where a few fatal minutes sent her. This was the story of the Akagi. I post a story like this every single day. This is real footage of Zeros taking off from the deck of the Akagi. For half a year, this single ship was the most successful aircraft carrier on Earth. Its planes struck Pearl Harbor, Darwin, and Ceylon, and it never lost. Then, in a few minutes, she was doomed. This is the story of the Akagi.. ⠀ From Battlecruiser to Flagship The Akagi, named after Mount Akagi in Japan, was not even meant to be a carrier. She was laid down as a massive battlecruiser, but a naval treaty in the 1920s halted her construction. Rather than scrap the enormous hull, Japan rebuilt her into an aircraft carrier, one of the largest in the world. By 1941 she had become the flagship of the Kido Butai, the First Air Fleet. This was the most powerful concentration of naval air power on the planet, six aircraft carriers operating together as a single striking fist, something no other navy had ever done. From her deck, Admiral Chuichi Nagumo commanded the whole force. When Japan decided to open the war with a knockout blow against the United States, it was the Akagi that led the way. The Carrier That Led Japan's Offensive On the morning of December 7 1941, the Akagi sat in the dark waters north of Hawaii, and launched her aircraft toward Pearl Harbor. Her torpedo bombers helped tear apart the American battleship fleet as it lay at anchor. The man who led the entire air attack, Mitsuo Fuchida, flew from her deck. The Akagi was, quite literally, the ship from which America's war began. And she was just getting started. Over the next several months, the Akagi and her sister carriers went on a rampage across a third of the globe. In January they struck Rabaul. In February they fell upon the Australian city of Darwin, launching a devastating surprise raid that sank eight ships and became known as Australia's Pearl Harbor. ⠀ Across the Indian Ocean Then they turned west, into the Indian Ocean. In the spring of 1942 the Kido Butai swept toward Ceylon, hunting the British Eastern Fleet. Akagi's aircraft helped sink British warships, including the heavy cruisers Cornwall and Dorsetshire, and sent the Royal Navy reeling out of the eastern Indian Ocean entirely. In just half a year, the aircraft launched from that deck had struck Hawaii, the Dutch East Indies, Australia, and Ceylon. They had helped sink American, British, and Australian ships across thousands of miles of ocean. The Akagi had not lost a single battle. She was the most successful and most feared aircraft carrier in the world, the flagship of a force that seemed unstoppable. It would all end on one morning in June. The Battle of Midway In June 1942, the Akagi led the Kido Butai toward a tiny American outpost called Midway. The plan was to seize the island and destroy what was left of the American carrier fleet. But the Americans had broken the Japanese codes. They knew the Akagi and her sisters were coming, and they were waiting. On the morning of June 4, the battle turned into chaos. The Japanese carriers had just fought off waves of American attacks, and below the flight deck the Akagi's hangars were packed with aircraft being frantically rearmed and refueled, fuel lines and bombs lying everywhere. It was the most dangerous possible moment to be caught. And at that exact moment, American dive bombers rolled in out of the sky, unseen until it was too late. ⠀ One Bomb A lookout screamed a warning. Then the bombs fell. The Akagi was struck by a single bomb from an American dive bomber, dropped by Lieutenant Richard Best, while near misses battered her hull and jammed her rudder. Just one direct hit. But it struck in the worst possible place, punching down into the hangar deck packed with armed, fueled aircraft. The explosion set off a chain reaction. Fires roared through the ship, feeding on the fuel and detonating the bombs stacked among the planes. Within minutes the pride of the Japanese fleet was doomed, a spreading inferno no one could control. The flagship that had conquered half an ocean was mortally wounded by one well-aimed bomb. Admiral Nagumo was forced to abandon his burning flagship and transfer his command to another ship. The Akagi was left blazing, unnavigable, circling helplessly. The End of the Akagi The Akagi burned all day and into the night. Unable to save her, and unwilling to let her fall into American hands, the Japanese ordered her own destroyers to sink her. In the early hours of June 5 1942, torpedoes from her escorts sent her to the bottom. She went down bow first. 267 of her crew died with her. She did not go alone. All four Japanese carriers at Midway, every one of them a veteran of Pearl Harbor, were sunk in the same battle, taking with them their irreplaceable aircraft and elite crews. It was the turning point of the entire Pacific war. Japan would never recover the initiative. For over 75 years, the Akagi lay lost in the dark. Then in 2019 her wreck was finally found, more than 17,000 feet down, and in 2023 a robot submarine descended to look upon her for the first time since she sank. The most successful carrier in the world, resting in the deep, where a few fatal minutes sent her. This was the story of the Akagi. I post a story like this every single day. I was bone-tired from a grueling day, my head heavy with the weight of it all. I’d just slipped into sleep when my phone suddenly buzzed, vibrating insistently on the bedside table. At first, I ignored it, thinking it could wait until morning. But then it rang again, and something in its persistence made me pick up. “Hello?” I answered, my voice feeble with exhaustion. “Is this Advocate Ashwin?” A man's voice, firm yet urgent, came through the line. “Yes” I tried to shake the sleep from my voice. “This is Shivakumar, Sub Inspector from **** police station” he said, his tone grave. Instantly, I sat up, alert. “Tell me, sir. How can I help?” “We’re on the highway,” he began, voice thick with a mix of anger and sadness. “We found a young street calf, hardly a 5 months old. He was hit by a speeding vehicle, left to cry and bleed on the road. But that wasn’t the end of it,” he said, voice tight with contained rage. “Another vehicle came and hit him again, dragged him some distance, and left him there, barely breathing.” A surge of anger rose within me at the cruelty of it all, but I pushed it down. I had to act quickly. “Sir, please, can you have one of your men stay by him until we arrive?” I asked. “I’ll send a vehicle right away.” The Sub Inspector didn’t hesitate. “Yes, we’ll stay with him. He’s suffering. He needs us.” I quickly arranged for a team to be dispatched. By the time we reached the calf, the compassionate officers were there, standing guard by the frail figure lying on the road. He was so small, barely 4 month old and his breaths were shallow. His eyes, wide with pain and fear, were searching—perhaps for some kindness, some solace. The officers and our staff lifted him with the utmost care, placing him onto a plank, and our vehicle sped back to the gaushala. Our veterinary team had been waiting, ready with bandages and medicine, their faces showing both worry and determination. Gently, they began to examine him, murmuring soothing words, treating each bruise and wound as if it were their own. We all prayed intensely to Sri Krishna to help us recover the calf. Though he was bruised and had torn ligaments, thankfully no bones were broken. But the journey wasn’t over yet. For days, he lay in recovery, eyes watching us, filled with a fragile hope. Slowly, day by day, he began to show signs of strength, taking tiny steps, even nibbling on food placed before him. today , it’s been a week since that call pierced the silence of the night. Our little calf is beginning to stand on his own, determined, with a spark in his eyes that wasn’t there before. His journey has been painful, but he’s coming through it, one small step at a time. In the stillness of that night, a life was saved because of the compassion of strangers—of officers, vets, and everyone who believed in his right to live. Watching him now, I’m reminded of the incredible power of kindness, even in the loneliest hours. This wouldn't have been possible without your support and blessings of Krishna!. IRANIAN TARGETING CONTINUES TO STRIKE LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT MIDDLE EAST, U.S. HAS NOT RESPONDED YET.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: After the intense Iranian targeting of American positions Friday evening, sporadic Iranian drone strikes have been reported throughout the region. Other than targeting American positions, Iranian drone attacks have also been observed striking Kurdish militia encampments in northeastern Iraq. On the American side, CENTCOM has not disclosed any strikes within Iran for several days. Red Sea/HOA: Nearly the entire Jazan Refinery in Saudi Arabia remains on fire following the Houthi targeting on Saturday. This crew member happened to be an Iranian citizen, which prompted Foreign Minister Araghchi to issue a statement of outrage. Analyst Comment: It is very unlikely that the Ukrainians would have known that one random crewmember onboard a vessel was technically Iranian, but intentional or not, this incident is another step towards linking the war in Europe with the conflict in the Middle East. Germany: On Sunday, a vehicle ramming attack was reported at the Pride festival in Berlin. One assailant ramming his vehicle into a crowd in the vicinity of the Tiergarden west of the Brandenburg Gate, killing one person and wounding 29 others. After the ramming, the suspect exited the vehicle and reportedly stabbed several people with a machete, before fleeing the scene. This prompted a nationwide manhunt for the assailant that was carried out Sunday afternoon. By Sunday evening, the suspect had been located in a residential area of Spandau. Once located, the suspect allegedly tried to stab the arresting officers, which resulted in the suspect being shot and killed. The suspect was identified as Abdul Ballout, who had reportedly just been released from a juvenile detention facility. Analyst Comment: For the context of how much this matters, Libya has been exporting a little more than a million barrels of oil per day, roughly 85% of which gets sold directly to Europe. By comparison, Venezuela exports about the same amount. As such, security guards taking over random oil fields in northern Africa has effectively canceled out any perceived benefit that the capture of Venezuelan oil has made to the global oil markets. Middle East: Overnight targeting between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia resulted in more Saudi oil facilities being struck.
