Respect for Favre. You can almost see the second he realizes this guy has more problems than anger over his broken record. He handled it well.

Regardless of Favre's intentions (which are debatable), the fact that Gastineau, now a 68-year-old man, is still bitter & angry over 20+ years later is beyond sad.

Gastineau has dementia and Parkinson’s so I’ll cut him some slack

Here's the full clip. It's actually so much worse. Dude is miserable, ruined by CTE, gets called out by those who knew him for being selfish and chasing a record instead of making plays, and his entire miserable life is centered around Farve wronging him AFTER he'd retired.

Here’s the background: Blown blocking assignment, Strahan about to blow up defenseless Favre, who gives himself up rather than being thrown to turf. NFL (not Favre) gives Strahan credit for a sack. 22 years later, Gastineau is pissed at Favre.

He has Dementia/Parkinsons/Alzheimers. He shouldn't be judged normally because he's not all there.

Here’s some background- This post shows a tense moment where Mark Gastineau confronted Brett Favre at a memorabilia show. Gastineau accused Favre of taking a dive, allowing Michael Strahan to break Gastineau's record for the most sacks in a single season. This incident, captured on video, is part of an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary titled "The New York Sack Exchange," which explores the dynamics and legacy of the Jets' famous defensive line known as the "Sack Exchange."

The point is moot. Since Strahan recorded his 22 1/2 sack to pass Gastineau, the record has been matched by T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021. Jared Allen (2011) and Justin Houston (2014) have each tied Gastineau with 22 sacks in a single season. So where's the beef?

Gastineau seems to have suffered severe CTE. Sad.
