I think this is relevant because the Wolves front office has a history of kind of stringing together transactions -- even over the course of multiple transaction windows (offseason and trade deadline). You look at both of those teams and they're playing for one another, they're excited to be on the floor with one another, they're a team where they're selfless... My answer for "what to do this summer?" -- if the goal is to compete with San Antonio and OKC -- would be prioritizing physicality and athleticism pieces. That's the area, to me, to lean into, so as to be able to physically overwhelm those teams -- like they have Denver, twice. I think they'd do that by empowering athletic pieces internally (Shannon, Beringer) and adding them externally (in the trade/free agency market). If the Wolves can do that while adding more shooting to their frontcourt and more ball-handling to the backcourt, I think the summer would be a win. And I think with that type of roster adjustment (if possible), the Wolves would have a puncher's chance of landing some haymakers and knocking out San Antonio or Oklahoma City in a playoff series.

But I do wonder how much the Wolves' floor -- on both offense and defense -- disappears if *both* Randle and Gobert are not on the team next season. Some floor-raiser numbers on Randle and Gobert from this season... To me, it's an unserious roster right now -- no bigs outside of Gobert and Beringer. If they roll into the season with this group, it will be spun as "unconventional" or "where the game is moving" or "loading...". But in reality, it would just be unserious for a team with title aspirations to have the starting power forward be Ayo Dosunmu (a PG last year) or Trey Lyles (not in the NBA last year). Could be fun. Wouldn't be serious. However... if they do trade some combination of Green/DiVincenzo/Shannon for a legitimate 4, then I think it's fair to say the Wolves have improved as much as anyone in the West this summer. And that's with no LeBron.
