He worked his butt off to prove he belonged in the NBA and was deserving of the early high school media praise he got. He came from a single mother home but had a humility and maturity to him that made you want to cheer for him. This podcast reminded me he ONCE had a fire and mindset that was admirable. Sadly, he went away from this humble mindset when he went to Miami and then went on a run of making super team moves. Becoming very unlikable.. Complaining about lack of talent, making excuses, being a victim, ect

Jimmy asked about Greg Kouri, a close friend and early investor in Elon's first company, Zip2. Greg died at a very young age: "I said, Elon, I want to begin our interview a little bit differently. We want more guys to play, and I was known as one of the first guys to say I hated it because the year the 65-game rule was implemented was my contract year. I had to play 65 games to make All-NBA to be eligible for the supermax” “I said that I didn't like it at the time, and I still feel that way. I've talked with Commissioner Silver, and we talked about how, from a financial standpoint, it can only hurt so many people in that year. Guys who are like me at that time. 🗣️people were posting recaps (about WU) and saying things like “eui, you were so immersed in the role” 🐶oh yes, we’ve been reading them. skynani and the team have read almost everything we could🥹🫶🏼 🐶as much as we could manage to read 🐶but on the first day we went to watch the first EP with all the fans, I got home around 1 AM and was completely wiped out. I couldn’t read anything that night. But I came back to read everything the next day 🗣️and everyone talked so much about the CGI. At first, do you know what I thought? 🐶yes? 🗣️I thought it wasn’t CGI😆 🐶you thought it was real? 🗣️yes 🐶oh my😂 🗣️It looked sk real. Seriously, so realistic. Richard Childress talked over the weekend about how Kyle Busch had gotten into hunting as they developed their friendship. I had forgotten all about this, but I actually asked Kyle what his best hunt was at Talladega in 2024 while he was talking about a trip he took with the Realtree people. "As crazy as it sounds, it was a bighorn sheep, longhorn sheep in Texas. So that was pretty cool. Actually, Samantha wouldn't let me have the mount so it's with a buddy of mine up in Maine who loves hunting and stuff like that. So he's got it." Glad I found this video because I think it's a nice insight into the older and more well-rounded Kyle that we got to enjoy.

There's no excess. "Is there a close up?" and I'm like, "No." And so, I do a lot of that, and it's very deliberate. I mean, the thing about the show when you talk about the money and the resources, the reason that it is stretched to a point, is that we shot, I think, 57 locations in 34 days? So to keep the scope of the show the way we wanted, we had to move fast, and we had to get things done. And so that means there's going to be some one-ers, there's going to be some things, and instead of you seeing that as a limitation, you have to view that as like, “This is a fun opportunity to do something interesting.” We shot that cottage in two days. So, it felt like if you were going to be the type of person who is going to have an affair or be cheating or hiding things, you wouldn’t also be so readily giving of your stuff like that. And so I looked in his messages. There was nothing weird. And I was like, “Okay, maybe you’re being dumb.” And then I opened up his camera roll and then that’s when I saw what I saw. And I busted out of the stall.”

This couldn’t be further from the truth. I haven’t even talked ABOUT him in quite some time never mind talking TO him. I don’t know what his motive is here but I’m sure whatever it is, it’s destined for failure.

Because no one would have been better suited to answer my questions on that topic than my guest on this episode. His name is David Bahnsen, and aside from managing over $7 billion in assets, David has forgotten more about the global economy than most economists will ever remember.
